Welcome to Spring 2022 Research & Development (R&D). This document will contain some of the projects I am planning as well as some restructuring. The goal of R&D is to work on technical projects as well as to do in-depth research.
Head of R&D: Advay Koranne (ak845@cornell.edu)
Engineering Project Manager: tbd
Research & Investment Project Manager: tbd
Past Projects:
Structure:
Engineering: This will be more based on software development
Research & Investments: this will be hands on research with the goal of making investments for the club as well as working with clients.
Each of these groups will have project managers (pms), which will be responsible for ensuring projects are on track and communicating with group members.
Overview: The engineering goal is to familiarize club members with software development skills needed for successful blockchain development.
Project Ideas:
Continue arbitrage bot
Create a DAO (main goal for this semester)
this will be used for voting on investments
governance etc..
Run a Avalanche Node
Develop a trading bot (quantitive finance)
make NFT’s for Cornell (i.e for Cornell Sports teams, clubs etc... )
Overview: The goal of R&I is to familiarize students with reading blockchain related content (white-papers, medium articles etc...). Research may aid engineering in projects, but will primarily be focussed on investment thesis. Some colleges have created funds that students are managing, our goal this semester will be to jump start this. Analysts will be responsible for research projects in small groups and presenting weekly pitches to the club. We will then vote on whether or not to execute the thesis. The goal will be to publish our research and investment proposals on medium/mirror and twitter.
Resources:
The above report is from the University of Oregon blockchain that shows the investments they have made and how their fund is doing. We plan on doing something like this as we will become an LLC.
Work on finishing the arbitrage bot and optimizing it (~5 students).
Start working on Cornell DAO (~8 students).
Have students in groups of 3 research one project and present it to the club for “investment” purposes.
