Henlo Beras, this parody article will serve as the voice to the voiceless, for all the Beras that were skemed by the one they call The Janitooor.
It all started late January 2023 when Jani published the genesis article of the collection “Henlo, World”. Many Beras rushed to The Honey Jar to mint the article as alpha was spread surrounding the future utility of the collection. Many believed this would be a good way to gain exposure to a project that is Berachain adjacent without needing to hold any Bong Bears/rebases.
Collecting the articles was a way to be eligible for to free claim Honeycomb NFTs (HC) . Holding an HC would allow you access to the Hibernation game with the potential to win a Bong Bear
As more information became available about The Honey Jar so did the confusion on how to participate.
Collecting the articles allowed entry to different gates and time slots to get to the free claims and paid mints. The first two articles granted access to “Fren Gate”, a second set of 8 articles would also grant you access to “Bear Gate”, however, if you collected all the articles you were guaranteed a free claim using the “Infinity Gate. The Honey Jar Partnooors also had some free claims that were given away to through their channels for the “Partner Gate”.
As you can tell the claiming/minting process was very complex. Information was sloppily scattered throughout CT threads with misprints or wrong information on many of the graphics. Instead of focusing on making the process clear, Jani was busy trying to get articles translated to other languages.

Who is to blame for the confusion? The Beras that can’t read or the overly complex “Gate” system.
Despite the confusion many of the Beras minted the articles with hopes that they will be able to free claim some HoneyCombs (HC). However, much to their chagrin the minting process was not smooth as honey. When the first two gates were supposed to opened at 00:20 UTC, many got the message that the allocation had minted out already. A minor glitch but the Beras in the VC assured everyone that it was just a glitch and the real gate would open soon. Many Beras had stayed up late to participate and just gave up and went to sleep.
I dont blame Jani for this as these things can happen during mints and should be expected. Especially since Berachain is fake and the night before they couldn’t even figure out how to host a proper poker tourney.
When the issues were resolved and the gates opened up again, minting/free claims began, and what a sight it was! It was PvP or should I say BvB, with the gas wars raging! The allocation for the BearGate free claim minted out very quickly.
Unfortunately, many Beras that bought the articles and where not able to mint. These Beras felt they were Honey Potted by Jani. To be fair, they were adequately warned that the Gates other than Infinity Gate were first come first serve. This didn’t stop one frustated Bera, nanamaru, to create a meme on a t-shirt stating “I paid Jani 50$ for a WL and I got NOTHING”. This meme quickly spread like a wild fire in the [Beraland Discord](https://“Honey Potted”) (someone call smonkey) and was even turned into a sticker. But you won’t believe what happens next…

Not only was the meme stolen as a twitter post, Jani even dressed his Bera with the meme shirt!
Instead of trying to make right by those whom he Honey Potted, Jani laughs in their face. Another way people felt Honey Potted is that not all HC are created equal.
Paid-mint HC holders are eligible for a separate game called Beradrop. These holders will be eligible to potentially win Bitbear bits but not those who hold HC that were free-claimed from a Gate.

No, and I cannot overstate this. Jani is really trying to build a community adjacent to Berachain. The Honey Jar will allow for many whom don’t have the capital to buy a Bera feel like they can participate in the Berachain world. As I stated above this is a parody article and truly believe despite some missteps The Honey Jar has been a wild success.
