Gnoland was created by a Tendermint fork called New Tendermint. It also comes with Gno Lang, an interpreted golang-like language for writing Realms (smart contracts on Gno). It was designed by Jae Kwon, a core contributor to Cosmos and Tendermint. Its goal is to create a decentralized, secure and scalable smart contract platform for people to create applications that matter, especially for censorship. The project started as an offshoot of Tendermint and Jae Kwon is now the CEO of NewTendermint Inc. The goal of New Tendermint is to create a simpler version of the Tendermint framework and to use Gno as a toolbox for the new Cosmos project. Goroutine lightens the load on the operating system by implementing the runtime native scheduler Go Scheduler. gnoland integrates with goroutine by supporting Golang as a smart contract language. and Gnolang inherits Golang's faster compilation speed, cleaner syntax, and resource efficient concurrency. Dual tokens: Gnoland is looking to adopt a dual token model similar to Cosmos' original idea, where the "fee utility" is stripped from the governance token. The dual token model mitigates operational risk by shifting governance responsibilities from end users to nodes, verifiers, and network stakeholders who have actual knowledge of the blockchain. Dual tokens address the reduced network security caused by the current single token model. The above is just a brief overview of GNO, which is still in its early stages, and we should expect many new communications in the future.
