Johannes

It is said knowledge is the water of the mind, wisdom, its spring eternal.

A clever apple-eater, or two, took some sand and made some glass. They called it a bottle.

Filled with water, they kept it for themselves, as they ventured outside the garden.

As they journeyed across the world, cups made of gold and diamonds were filled from this bottle and were lorded in front of those who were not permitted to taste of the water.

We were told mortal hands could not drink from those cups, only the chosen, the province of priests and kings.

Or so we were told for centuries.

But you, Johannes, discovered the spring in the forest outside the walls of the city, and handed everyone a bottle.

And we drank.

We discovered there was more than one bottle and more than one cup, there was a burbling spring eternal from which all water flows.

And as we drank, swam, and played in the spring waters, we saw the fire in the distance consume the halls of the castles and cathedrals.

“Water always finds a way.” - Satoshi
