The metaverse is changing everything. The changes to society that were brought by Covid are going to be accelerated by adoption of the metaverse.
Applications like Zoom have already accelerated the how we interact with coworkers. During the pandemic numerous startups cropped up to change interaction people have with startups. Companies like Gathertown and Gatherly have created a 2D Metaverse that lets coworkers interact with each other in a gamified fashion. With the advancement of technology synthetic scenes are super realistic.

Imagine going to the movies or meeting friends at a “bar” straight from the comfort of your home. When most activities can be done virtually what reason is there to leave your house at all? Brick and mortar businesses along with parking spaces take up a lot of space. With a lot of these businesses converted to the metaverse there’s more real estate for pedestrian friendly spaces like parks. Reducing the need for physical stores will have a positive impact on the environment as less people will be driving and more space will be dedicated to nature.

As remote learning has shown us, when done right it can be just as effective as in-person education. Many students don’t have access to high quality education from a young age which puts them at a huge disadvantage. Quality of early education can be directly correlated to future success. A world where regardless of your location or income students would have access to high quality education and development programs.

The metaverse is going to open a whole realm of possibilities that will change humanity forever.
Plus we’re getting closer to recreating humanity in a simulation ;).
