Last night's SeedClub podcast kicked off a new series, The DAO Contributors Series.
The first issue invited Patti Hauseman, a music veteran before joining FWB, who was responsible for record-related business in different companies. When I was making music, I met Trevor, the founder of FWB. A year ago, I wanted to join FWB because I wanted to learn about NFTs. Trevor gave her some FWB to join the group. This is the first crypto asset she owns.

After entering FWB, she was quickly attracted to Web3 and joined the FWB membership team, responsible for a series of work such as membership auditing. The reason for joining this team is that the membership team is one of the few areas in FWB that does not require any expertise at all. She became head of the membership committee, then moved to operations, and eventually head of operations. She is currently working full time for FWB.
DAO's Participation Model
In the dialogue, several different types of DAO participation modes were discussed. Some DAOs can participate in a small team, requiring a high degree of professional ability and entry threshold. Some DAOs remain fully open for anyone to play, build completely flat structures, and grow by leaps and bounds (BanklessDAO is the representative). The FWB is an intermediate state, maintaining the structure and streamlining of the team (but in fact there are more than 100 contributors), walking slower, and the member review system.
Want to make an impact, not make money
Clear direction is absolutely necessary, and in a more decentralized organization, it's probably even more important, otherwise, how do you know you're actually contributing something of value? People want to make an impact, and low-level bounties don't work for most people, they want their own impact on the world.
consensus
It's good to start with soft consensus before pushing votes, and soft consensus usually pushes us. And let us know if we are going the wrong way. We've had this a few times, and we've regrouped and pushed to work through community feedback to get us back on the right path. While we're trying to optimize consensus, we're also trying to make sure we're also listening to individual concerns, just to make sure everyone feels like they have a voice in the process.
Are there any KPIs
Set quarters, each team sets goals on a quarterly basis and the strategy team discusses with each team whether goals are important. Which team has higher priority, coordinate and reach consensus. Wait until the end of the quarter to see if the target has been achieved.
What if the goal is not achieved. There is no formal process for accountability, but we will try to understand why the goal was not achieved and what is behind it. If it makes sense, add it to the next quarter's target.
medical insurance
FWB was trying to figure out how to provide health care services for DAO contributors, and it took them about two months to finally find that all the existing solutions on the market did not work, so they did it themselves. This matter has been tossing for a long time, and it will probably be settled by the end of this month. When this showcase is established, other DAOs can use this solution in the future. They are also actively exploring the DAO's overall legal compliance matters.
Create friendly spaces
The builders in the DAO ecosystem are all working hard to make the ecosystem more stable and create a friendlier space to attract more people into the field. A lot of things can be very small things that don't feel like a big deal but are actually important, releasing love and gratitude for the builders and the contributions they make is to bring more talented you and creative people into the field .
