Like most people, I was first exposed to blockchain when Bitcoin emerged, followed by the term 'NFT.' I tried reading numerous articles, although I never fully grasped what it all meant, except for one thing: blockchain is the future.
During the pandemic, I didn’t really have “the time” to dive deeper. My struggle to survive—economically, physically, and mentally—didn’t leave enough mental space for it.
It wasn’t until the end of 2023 that I revisited the notes I had made while exploring the Web3 universe, which led me to this point—learning by doing.
Only in September 2024 did I truly try to create a wallet. But I encountered a lot of confusion because of how rapidly Web3 had evolved. There were so many new terms I had to understand, and even opening a wallet was bewildering.
Eventually, I created wallets on Metamask and Phantom, and purchased coins through the Indonesian exchange, Tokocrypto. Again, there was no particular reason behind this other than wanting to give it a shot. I bought ARB and ADA. My more crypto-savvy friends laughed at my decision.
The same went for NFTs. I tried to understand how the marketplaces worked, what the requirements were, and how much I needed for minting. I was confused and hesitant. Even though references were available, many of them seemed ambiguous to me.
Fortunately, I was introduced to Hendra from NFT Indonesia, who then introduced me to Prof. Nota, a pseudonym whose real name I still don’t know. Both of them provided me with guidance in the form of discussions, casual conversations, and practical tips on how to start.
Currently, I’m experimenting with lazy minting on Rarible. No particular reason—simply because I feel comfortable with its interface. Maybe I’ll also try Mintable or Opensea in the future, but for now, I’m focusing on Rarible.

Some time ago, I tried minting with gas fees on Exchange Art as an experiment. Financial limitations have made it difficult for me to be as free as I’d like in experimenting.
Right now, I’m in the process of understanding how each marketplace, community, and behavior works. There’s still a lot of confusion, but I’m optimistic that I’ll eventually achieve a comprehensive understanding of it all.
Everything is still on track with the roadmap I created: the first three months—learn and understand.
