At 12:00 pm, Jinbeibei checked all the demands put forward by the owner on that day, contacted and connected the materials to be delivered the next day, and the busy day was coming to an end. She is the housekeeper of Shanghai COSCO Longyang apartment of Ningjun property.
The other nine colleagues have also completed the whole day’s work: distribute living materials in place, visit the old, weak, sick and young with special needs, and kill them again. At this time, they all lay down in their makeshift marching beds. Some sleep in the office and some are crowded in the nearby dormitory.
Six hours later, kimbeibei and her colleagues will be back at work for another day.
COSCO Longyang apartment is close to many hospitals such as Shanghai Children’s medical center. About 20 patients who need long-term treatment have settled here temporarily.
From the beginning of another day, these patients need to go to the hospital for treatment. During the closure period, they must have a pass every time they enter and leave the community. Kimbeibei needs to distribute these passes to them before they go out. At about 7 a.m., the passes were issued one after another.
Then there is the repetition of the work of the previous day.
On March 24, 2022, COSCO Longyang apartment was designated as a sealed off area. Over the past 23 days, the property service personnel of COSCO Longyang apartment have guarded the community with 236 households, become their reliable “housekeeper”, and have a warm and calm story with more than 400 residents in the community.
I can see a doctor
Among the residents of COSCO Longyang apartment, middle-aged and elderly people and patients and their families diagnosed and treated in nearby hospitals account for a large part. If the apartment is sealed, the medication of the elderly with chronic diseases and the travel security of patients who need long-term treatment need to be paid attention to.
In Shanghai, where the epidemic is still in a small stage, Jinbeibei has paid attention to this situation and taken corresponding actions.
“If our community is closed, we have children with leukemia and some children with poor liver and kidney function. What should they do if they have to face the problems of chemotherapy, radiotherapy, dialysis or follow-up visit? We contacted the neighborhood committee at the first time and discussed with them about reasonable arrangements.”
In the process of negotiation with the neighborhood committee, the news of the closure has been issued, and Jinbeibei is worried.
“The notice requires staying at home, and no one is allowed to pass unless 120 come to pick it up. But our community does have special circumstances, and it is not one household or two households, so I reported to the neighborhood committee that we may not be able to act in full accordance with the requirements of the notice, and we should consider the actual situation.” Kimbeibei said.
Jin Beibei’s suggestion to the neighborhood committee is to send a pass to the patients who need to go to the hospital to treat, to name, ID number, cause and accompanying persons, to seal the neighborhood committee and to bring the medical insurance card and medical record card to the hospital when they are going to the hospital. “No one will spread rumors when they are ill. The neighborhood committee is also more humanized, and it is allowed after many considerations.”
In the first two days of the closure, the neighborhood committee had not yet had time to provide passes for the residents of the community. Jinbeibei was also very decisive and first used the pass of the community for emergency. “Because our community has always been a negative community, there is no problem. This card can also prove that it is safe to go out from our community.”
Dispensing medicine for the elderly
The difficulty of going out to see a doctor has been overcome. Jinbeibei still has to face the dispensing problem of residents with chronic diseases in the community.
After the closure, these residents with chronic diseases can’t go to the hospital to dispense drugs by themselves. “Without emergencies, (these people with chronic diseases) can’t go out and have to be in the community. But they have chronic diseases themselves, and many drugs can’t be prepared if they don’t go out.”
This matter did not embarrass kimbeibei and her colleagues.
In order to solve this problem, Jinbeibei arranged a housekeeper girl to count the people who need dispensing in the community, ask them to write a list of dispensing and collect their medical insurance cards, and go to various hospitals and community health centers as volunteers to dispense.
Jinbeibei said, “there are about 20 households in our community who need to dispense drugs. Now they have dispensed drugs for five times, with about 10 copies each time.”
The dispensing process is not always very smooth.
There was an old man in the community. Jinbeibei and his colleagues failed to match the medicine he needed several times. Seeing that the medicine was about to run out, Jinbeibei had to find another way.
During the epidemic, residents in neighboring communities built various groups, which came into play at this time. Jinbeibei found a doctor in the next neighborhood in a dispensing group and asked the doctor for help. “We haven’t matched it for several times. There’s really no way. I can only ask others.”
Fortunately, the doctor promised to help the old man, “the doctor was also very enthusiastic, so I prepared all the materials and sent them. Finally, I also helped the old man prepare the medicine.”
With temperature service
Jinbeibei and his colleagues have a general understanding of the overall situation of the residents in the community. They will also provide relatively personalized services for residents when conditions permit.
There are many old people and children. Jinbeibei has specially built a care group for them. When ordering materials, they also give priority to ensuring their needs.
“We can’t bother sick children because they have just finished the operation, but we will contact them on wechat every day, whether they are short of things and need help. Every time the government sends materials to our property, we will take them out to them, because they may have just returned from the hospital and have nothing, so we provide them free of charge.” Kimbeibei said.
Some elderly people need nannies to take care of. Because the community is closed, nannies can’t come to their homes. Jinbeibei and colleagues should also consider their needs. “At the beginning, some old people couldn’t cook, so we helped them make a simple meal like two dishes and one soup.”
There are many elderly people living alone in the community. During the sealing and control period, even if their material needs are not much, Jinbeibei and colleagues often care about their daily life.
If Uncle Jinbei can’t eat alone, he will lose his temper and talk with him.
During the 23 days, Jin Beibei and his colleagues were busy for the residents of COSCO Longyang apartment, thinking about their needs.
On the way to help the old man get the medicine, Jinbeibei saw that a batch of fruit had just been delivered from the next community. She immediately came forward to inquire
