I see two main approaches to building in web3 social: asset-first or ideology-first.

In Issue 1 of our Variant newsletter last week, I championed the asset-first approach. But I like to think through all sides of an argument, and I think there is also an alternate path for web3 social networks to be successful. So below, I try to make the case for and the case against financializing web3 social networks.
