SPACE ID has come a long way and it has crossed the expectations of a lot of web3 users. With each step, they are getting closer on achieving the ‘Universal Name Service’ network.
As the project is striving towards creating a one-stop platform to register trade and manage all web3 domains, they have opened the gates for a wider audience to utilise SPACE ID and thus empowering every community to launch their own web3 Top-Level-Domain. In 6 months, around 1.1 million domains have been registered with a trading volume of $10 million on SPACE ID 2.0. This is just the beginning and with the launch of SPACE ID 3.0, the adoption of web3 domain names would be inevitable.
After bringing in .bnb name service, .arb name service and co-launched .sei domain names, SPACE ID is focused on bringing in all the web3 communities under their own namespace where those communities could get unique branded identities. This seperate namespace network will empower the communities quite well.SPACE ID has evolved in such a way as to favour the web3 communities in building their own TLDs and which could potentially ease out the registration processes. SPACE ID is nearing 1 year anniversary and as a part of it, a proposal has been posted in DAO for temperature check.
This proposal is, in my opinion, put forward to remove the burden on the community as such to get reasonable discounts on their domain extension fees. If you guys have anything to add or suggest a better way to drive the current domain market, feel free to do so.The key aspects mentioned in it are :
Hosting a domain renewal discount campaign for .bnb and .arb domains
Hosting a Gift Card raffle campaign for .bnb domain holders

Season 1 of SPACE ID grants was a huge success where it received 52 applications out of which 21 where selected which included 5 in exchange track, 4 in wallet track, 3 in tooling track, 2 in gaming track, and 7 in DApps track. And 42,300 USD were distributed as the grant. And in season 2 the SPACE ID has increased the grant range upto 10,000 USD and a total of 157,700 USD is left for season 2 grants program.
