Sui Name Service ($SNS) is a name service in the Sui blockchain that aims to act as a digital identity for crypto gaming services and products. It plans to build a community-owned name service and create an ecosystem of products on Sui that can be accessed via the ".sui" top-level domain. In the first phase of development, which runs from Q3 2022 to Q1 2023, $SNS plans to focus on building up its community and releasing its name service and resolver extension. It also aims to raise funds for further development. In the second phase, from Q1 2023 to Q1.5 2023, $SNS plans to introduce exclusive profiles that users can customize with NFTs, and allow users to send tokens and NFTs to Sui domains through a receive bar. The third phase, from Q1.5 2023 to Q3 2023, will see the introduction of Sui-based messaging, which will be encrypted, untraceable, and free to use. It will also involve the introduction of a governance token for $SNS and dividends for $SNS token holders based on a percentage of specific product profits. In the final phase, from Q4 2023 and beyond, $SNS plans to introduce web2 domains, a gaming launcher, and legal considerations. The total supply of $SNS tokens will be capped at 100 million, with 2.5% locked at release and controlled by the parent company, SolNames LLC. The remaining 50% will be distributed to the community, the parent company, the founding team, and active contributors, with vesting schedules for the latter group. $SNS plans to hold airdrop events for interested parties.
