Our Social Gaming thesis
At Arena, we are setting out to build The Gamer Network — a new, more immersive, and purpose-built social gaming platform.
*This article will refer to content creators, influencers, brands, and businesses that engage with gamers as "creators."
The problems we are solving:
1. INFORMATION DISSEMINATION
Problem // Gaming information is fragmented across dozens of social media platforms and networks. As a gamer, you must check an exhaustive list (YouTube, Twitter, Twitch, Steam, Discord, TikTok, and more) of platforms to get a feel for the gaming landscape at a point in time.
Solution // Arena aggregates gaming news, content, and messaging into a streamlined, hyper-focused application centered around gaming. Not only can users create native content on Arena (gaming events, post messages, videos, articles, etc.), but we've made it dead simple for creators to sync their content from all their web2 platforms. The end results is a more robust social graph and content network that delivers gamers what they are looking for.
2. RETENTION & ENGAGEMENT
Problem // How do creators ensure their followers see their content when obscure algorithms determine what content to present on their black box platforms? How does a creator meaningfully interact with hundreds of thousands of followers?
Solution // Arena builds tools and features that enable brands and influencers to better engage with their community (announcements, quests, gaming tournaments, contests & giveaways, brackets, subscriptions, gated content, messaging, and more). The activity between creators and their communities is tracked over time, giving you a real-time picture of your most valuable community members. This allows creators to build long-term relationships and loyalty programs with their community, increasing retention and improving the LTV of each community member.
3. TOOLING
Problem // There are billions of gamers in the world, and they are relegated to industry-agnostic platforms and networks. Even Twitch and Discord have strayed from their gaming roots and have left a void in the gaming market. The front page of Twitch has devolved into politics, girls in hot tubs, and debate shows, while Discord is a sea of muted servers run by bots and phishing scams.
Solution // Everything on Arena is purpose-built for gamers. From the engagement tools to the eSports infrastructure to the curated news feeds, we are building a gaming network from the ground up that is hyper-focused on bringing value to gamers. We believe the gaming industry is large enough and gamers deserve tools that are catered to their needs.
We are early on in our journey to disrupt the gaming ecosystem and we’d love for you to join us live @ https://arena.gl
