Zooming into ZK:
Polygon launches open-source ZK proving system 'Plonky3'
Pixelverse integrates Pudgy Penguins character into Telegram mini-game
Zcash community approves 20% block reward allocation for decentralized grants
We dive into the details, so you don’t have to:
Polygon Labs has released its latest zero-knowledge proving system, "Plonky3," as an open-source toolkit under the MIT and Apache licenses. This new system aims to be more flexible than its predecessor, Plonky2, which was introduced in 2022. Plonky3 is designed to allow ZK developers to build their own virtual machines based on zero-knowledge cryptography, addressing performance and generality issues present in the previous version. The proving system plays a crucial role in zero-knowledge rollups by summarizing off-chain transactions and feeding the data back to Ethereum.
