Humans are social animals. We like to socialize. There is some part of our DNA that fans the flame of that desire—the need to be part of a group. There are exceptions to this rule, and every individual is a unique specimen (I will elaborate on these two points later). But at large, we all want to be part of a pack. To drive my point home, I will use the armed forces as an example (Disclaimer: I have served in the forces). Ancient Romans used this very concept and built their legions on top of...
A Drop in the Ocean
~ A Drop in the Ocean ~ Thirty six summers of my life, spent in a city with million shadows. An ancient land with billion souls, a pale blue dot with hundred nations. Reaching for bodies around the sun, just a speck of dust in our milky way. And who am I ? A drop in the ocean. ~fin~
Do You Remember ?
~ Do You Remember ~ Do you remember ? The taste of milk & cookies, and that of PBJ. The wait for new comic books, then reading them night and day. Do you remember ? The smell of mom’s perfume, and sweet sound of her voice. Running to her when in trouble, her fake anger, as if she had a choice ! Do you remember ? Smell of air after an unseasonal rain, Winter’s first flurry when it snowed overnight. Getting dirty in the puddles, or pretending to die in a snowball fight. Do you remember ? Gettin...

~The Message~
I looked outside the window again, sky was dark and gloomy. It had been raining all day. At that moment a street dog started barking… at something. I got up and decided to have a better look. I couldn’t see what the dog was barking at. My curiosity got the better of me and I decided to investigate. I was about to open the door when my phone chimed and my heart skipped a beat. I felt something roll deep in the pit of my stomach, “I should eat something”, I thought to myself. But deep down I knew it was not my body’s desire for nourishment that had caused it. I slowly moved towards my table to see the message. The barking grew louder and for some reason my dog decided to put his thoughts into words too. I tried to hush my dog but as always, he ignored me. I reached the table and saw the message and felt something heavy drop somewhere in my being. My vision got blurry for some reason and I moved away. I looked at my dog barking with all his might and decided to join him.
