Crazy Carl has been an Anon investor in the blockchain since 2017. He spent years reading white papers, researching crypto projects, and learning from personal failure to finally create a path to financial freedom for himself and his family. As a former public school teacher he wanted to help others achieve financial freedom as well, but always struggled to identify how to scale his technical knowledge to do so.

All of that changed in 2021 with NFTs. NFTs were making the blockchain cool, sexy, and culturally relevant. This was the perfect tool to help onboard the masses. By interviewing pioneers and creating a narrative around their shared stories, it was now possible to help others learn about the power of the blockchain in a fun and engaging way.

After 6 months of live interviews on The Crazy About Crypto Show, he started The Crazy Carl Collective discord and invited all of his followers and every guest of his show to join him. The discord became a safe place to grow together and continue learning about each individual’s journey into this new, innovative ecosystem. There was no whitelist or project to incentivize joining, just a group of people dedicated to collectively growing in the space together.

There was beauty in creating a discord server without any NFT project attached to it, but it seemed like there was an opportunity being missed. One that could help educate everyone in the space about the power of organic community growth in Web3. Crazy Carl envisioned an NFT where the community itself became the utility. A community where the NFT was a reward for the individual efforts of those with a shared vision to develop and build differently in Web3. The NFT would have no value on its own because it would be given for free, but it would be the key to unlocking the community that the group created. The NFT would become an access token to the community in discord — which is where all the value was being created.

In addition, Crazy Carl thought the art of the NFTs should be extremely meaningful. A gift within itself. He collaborated with 3 of his closest friends in the NFT world — Jasti, Odious, and Myth Division — to create true pieces of art for the genesis collection of The Crazy Carl Collective NFTs.

There is a total supply of 3,333 Genesis Crazy Carl Collective NFTs. Each artist created a special Crazy Carl Derivative NFT (edition of 1,111).

These tokens are then given out as rewards to those that help build the collective. Not a single NFT in the genesis collection will be sold. Every token will be distributed through contract unlocking and free whitelisting over the next two years. When minting, whitelisted individuals will be able to choose between 3 genesis NFTs to mint from (only costs being gas fees).

933 (28% of supply) of the NFTs will be unlocked at launch by the smart contract. The rest will unlock quarterly over the next two years for distribution.

The initial whitelist has been rewarded to the following individuals:

Artist Collective: Each artist is whitelisted to receive 100 of the NFTs they created. Their time and artwork is extremely valuable, and their gift to the Collective will never be forgotten.

Gutter Labs: Gutter Labs is whitelisted to receive 66 NFTs. It was important to have a trusted team behind the smart contract and Dapp development for this project. Crazy Carl’s original community for the show came primarily from the Gutter Cat Gang so it seemed fitting to include the talented GCG team in assisting with the launch. These 66 NFTs will be gifted to the GCG Community.

Crazy Carl: Crazy Carl will receive 33 NFTs, or 1% of the token supply. The focus was never meant to be on Crazy Carl. The power is in the collective, and therefore 99% of the tokens will be distributed amongst them. Crazy Carl is merely a steward to help guide the community to decentralization.

Crazy Carl Collective: The discord members that came together to create this community before it became an NFT project are the secret sauce. The community is where the true utility lies. As such, every member of the discord will be receiving 1 whitelist spot to mint just for joining. Moderators and individuals that have already stepped up in various leadership roles in the community will be rewarded with 3 whitelist mints.

Since there is no initial funding, 5% of secondary sales will be allocated to Crazy Carl Labs LLC to create a fund to assist in the community’s evolution to full decentralization.

Whitelisted members will have one month to mint their NFT. Any NFTs not minted during the initial launch will roll into upcoming contract unlocks and be whitelisted to individuals adding value to the collective. The remaining mints (72%) will be unlocked from the smart contract and whitelisted on the following quarterly schedule.
