ZetaChain is a decentralized blockchain and smart contracts platform designed to interact with Omnichain. ZetaChain is a protocol on the Cosmos SDK, which is connected to external blockchains (Ethereum, BSC, Solana, Avalanche, Terra, Bitcoin) and layers (Polygon, Optimism, Arbitrum). Thus, the goal of the project is to unify blockchains. As of this writing, ZetaChain is running a testnet.
Omnichain smart contracts and Bitcoin compatibility support have recently been launched in testnet. This is happening for the first time ever, making ZetaChain currently the only public blockchain with smart contracts that can access and manage assets and liquidity on any of the chains. Right now in the test network, you can already exchange BTC for other assets from supported decentralized networks (Etrium, Poligon, BSC and more).
The essence of the testnet is to earn ZetaPoints, which will be awarded for interacting with the protocol and recruiting other testnet participants. When the protocol is released to the main network, testnet participants will be rewarded with ZETA tokens. The reward will be based on the number of points gained during the testnet.
Also Project has received investment from Binance, Polygon and Hashed, a development team from Coinbase & ConsenSys.
To test zetachain, you will need a Metamask wallet, in which you need to add test networks: BSC Testnet, Polygon Mumbai. The protocol itself works in the Ethereum Goerli network (It is already in the Metamask wallet by default). You can add test networks at: chainlist.org, by connecting the wallet to the selected network.
Requesting Zeta test tokens

Note that in order to get tokens you need to connect your twitter account, which must have certain criteria. For example, your twitter account must have at least 1 tweet, at least 50 followers and be older than 1 month. Tokens can be requested once a day. But you can also use other proposed cranes if need.
The list of supported networks of ZetaChain test network Next, we need test tokens in the Ethereum Goerli network, BSC Testnet or Polygon Mumbai. To do this, we go to one of the cranes and request them. Just click on links below.

After receiving the test tokens you will need to go to the ZetaChain swap. Now we are ready to swap.

Select tokens and chains.

Press Review Order button.

Press Swap button and sign the transaction in Metamask.

After completing all the actions, all we have to do is to wait for the required number of network confirmations to pass and get Zetapoints for the exchange.

To exchange BTC we will need to install a wallet that supports it. As an option, it can be XDEFI wallet. Extension for your browser can be downloaded from the official website.
After the wallet will be installed, you need to transfer it to the test network by clicking on the appropriate switch in the menu in the upper right corner. Next, you need to select BTC in our list of assets, go to it, click on Recive, copy your address in the test network Bitcoin and go to the tap to get test tokens BTC.
Further, the procedure of exchanging BTC to other decentralized assets is completely similar to the above described procedure for Etherium Goerli.
Testnet rewards themselves.
At the moment, you can make one exchange per week, for which you will receive 7000 points. Although you can request Zeta test tokens on the site once a day. We may need them in the future.
You will also get 5000 points for each person that you invite after registering through my referral link and 5000 points for each person that you invite. The link for referrals is available in the Earn ZETA Points tab. For exchanging referrals you also get points, 1750 points for each referral exchange.
In addition, if you find bugs in the protocol, there is a reward of 10000 points. Found bugs can be reported in discord in a branch: # 👌| support-squad The number of ZETA points you can earn is unlimited.
Rewards for completing testnet tasks The number of participants you have invited and the points you have earned can be seen on the Leaderboard tab. You can see the number of participants you've invited and the points you've earned on the Leaderboard tab.
It should be noted that we are dealing with a testnet, which periodically changes the interface, updates and functional improvements to ensure stable operation in the future mainnet. Therefore, the network sometimes experiences downtime and execution of the testnet is not available, which is reported on the site by separate announcements. But since now you have to do only one exchange a week, there is nothing wrong with this, you can just start testnet later, after some time. During the technical work on the implementation of the new functionality, the execution of transactions is not possible, but you can still invite new members to the testnet. The project team also periodically publishes additional updates on Twitter and Discord regarding ZetaLabs, about new features and applications that you can interact with and help test.
Crew3 quests, for which you can get rewards and roles.
Tasks in the Guild, for them you can get roles in the discord of the project.
Tasks on Galxe, for which you can get NFT OAT.
Advanced activities are also available on the Crew3 site, such as writing articles, producing video content, or hosting AMAs. But most quests will involve social media activity, connecting your discord and twitter accounts, tweeting and commenting about the project. Getting experience points in Crew3 is also important, as activities and rewards can be added over time.
This is all I known about Zetachain project so far. I will be adding information to this guide as it appear.
More information about testnet you can also find in FAQ of the project.
