In case you missed it, Farcaster has officially shifted its focus.
They’re moving away from the social network side and doubling down on building a powerful wallet product.
They mentioned that after trying social-first for 4.5 years, it didn’t take off the way they expected.
But their wallet growth has been strong so now all new features and updates will be wallet-focused.
What this means for us:
Posting on Farcaster is no longer going to help for airdrop eligibility. The incentives are shifting completely.
From now on, focus on:
• Wallet interactions
• Using the Farcaster wallet regularly
• Testing new wallet features when they roll out
• Being an active wallet user instead of a social user
This is where future rewards will come from.
Not too happy with this move as with the huge funding Farcaster had they could’ve made the social side more rewarding for users and creators just like Base app is doing.
