World history of brewing

Beer is such an ancient drink that it is very difficult to establish its originators. The study of beer brewing recipes carved in stone gives grounds to assert that around 7000 BC. e. Sumerians living in Mesopotamia - in the territory between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers - already skillfully brew a drink using barley malt. They brought it as a gift to the goddess of fertility.
