Web3 enthusiast () => { learn web3 && blockchain; build a better world; relandscape the future of finance; }
I am familiar with crypto from quite a long ago in 2013, but same as many others didn't treat it seriously and considered it a new type of ponzi scam.
4 years later in mid-2017, the ETH wave caught my attention and I invested a small amount and became an ETH hodler:)
During the period from the 2017-18 cycle top till the 2020-21 bull market, I rarely remembered crypto and only at the beginning of 2021 dived deeper into this space exploring it from various angles - trading, staking, farming, DYOR'ing :))
And having the desire to learn more about the real value of particular projects I started to search for educational materials in the field. Unfortunately, it was not easy to find something really good and helpful as the market was full of low-quality content, FUD, and rumors.
I started my crypto education at Ivan-on-Tech Academy (which is now Moralis Academy) and liked how well-structured the material was. I learned a lot of crypto basics from there:
Bitcoin monetary revolution
Blockchain & Bitcoin 101
Crypto for beginners
Ethereum 101
DeFi 101
Technical Analysis 101

At that point, I realized the real benefits that blockchain technology could bring to mankind.
My attention was especially caught by the concept of Web3 decentralization.
The concepts of Defi especially caught my attention, and also I saw potential benefits and use cases for the blockchain in medical devices and pharma (where I have 10+ years of experience), particularly for storing and processing sensitive medical data.
This was the first moment I learned about smart contracts and was immersed in Solidity basics. However then it seemed too difficult to me, I was stuck often and started to doubt if I can ever learn Solidity without prior coding background. This doubt stopped me from continuing to learn Solidity and smart contracts development.
I was focused on my main job meanwhile trading crypto occasionally.
In February 2022 I had the toughest experience in my life - the war broke out in my motherland Ukraine and we had to leave our hometown, which was one of the first to be attacked by russian invaders :(
Luckily my hometown was deliberated a month later, but it was almost impossible to focus on thoughts about business or education during the first months of the war.
I tried to bring value to my country by being engaged in volunteering activities in the field of medical equipment supplies and some other minor tasks.
This black swan event has reset my mind and I started thinking about what I want to do when the war will be over.
And that's the second time I chose blockchain development despite it being challenging and I had absolutely no clue how to utilize this knowledge and land a crypto job.
I continued to learn at Moralis Academy (ex-Ivan-on-Tech) and completed
Ethereum smart contract programming (2022) course.

However, after completing the course I had even more questions and doubts about my prospects to become a blockchain developer.
I started my own research of the available blockchain education courses, created my own list, and decided to try them one by one and see what works and what can give me confidence in my skills.
Some of them from this list that I liked are
Cryptozombies
Buildspace
Dapp University
and finally, Chainshot which opened a door to Alchemy for me!
The story continues in the next post :)
