The Poorletariat project will be pivoting and will now be known as Birb Lab Technologies (BLT). This pivot consolidates founder projects and rebrands the Poorletariat Project. BLT will be fusing physical, social and blockchain technologies to rapidly prototype and open source arising technologies. We stand on the shoulder of giants, the least we can do is see how high we can push.
All members who minted a flock NFT have been refunded plus 50% since this was a small, paid mint. Members who hold a Shepherd or Flock NFT will be able to trade their NFT for allowlist on an upcoming mint. If holders have issue with this resolve then please reach out in our discord.
The purpose of Birb Lab Technologies is to push technology forward in an open manner. That could be developing novel social technologies, embedded systems or communication technologies. Some examples include vapor sensing, mesh networks and sports recovery. The structure will include a public disclosure and open sourcing hardware and software developments. Projects will be released to the public via Mirror articles. Those who collect the articles will be allowlisted for upcoming mints related to a specific prototype.
This structure is very similar to Kickstarter. Prototypes will be revealed and followers of these projects will be rewarded with allowlists to acquire a commercial ready product. The NFT will give early access to development prototypes while the tech is developed for consumers. Once the tech is consumer grade then the NFT will be burned for the new item. We are using NFTs as tradeable kickstarter-esque access passes and methods to fund new technology development. The idea is to rapidly prototype and develop a community around specific projects.
This process improves on Kickstarter and Indiegogo by allowing the supporter to trade their prospective product and to enable price discovery mechanics to prove the business viability of the product. These points will be addressed more fully in coming articles.
There are other projects with broader networks which had similar aspirations as the Poorletariat Project. These projects were going to do/were doing some rendition of Utility Capital (CPG, Moonbirds, Nouns), Community design, and cascading NFTs (Dead Birds Society) superior to what the Poorletariat Project was able to accomplish.
Instead, we will be leveraging our abilities to rapidly prototype new technologies on smaller scales. This method allows us to grow into a niche field of NFTs that is soon to be one of the major drivers in the next bull market. Kickstarter-esque projects are an avenue of NFT growth which will be undeniable because it captures emerging trends. These trends include time limits on NFT usability, royalty resistance and meatverse - metaverse melding.
In addition, this is an opportunity to build fully in the open. We will be open sourcing code and hardware. We will not be using customary IP protections in a bid to attract a broader audience who can contribute to these different builds. Birb Lab Technologies will continue to experiment on the fringes of the NFT and technology spaces.
