Motorsport presently contacts nearly every corner of the globe. People rejoice over a variety of racing cars, tracks, and racing styles. Each category of racing has its own unique fanbase that enjoys speed, mechanical and technological breakthroughs, and a driver's unique ability to control all of the above. Diverse racetracks around the world are easily filled with thousands of spectators, and indeed, who can blame them: the sound of a roaring engine and hooting tires, the charismatic tack of some of the world’s best drivers, the excitement of speed… It is unique, sensational, and leaves a lasting impression on anyone with a love for adrenaline.
It is exactly this kind of setup that opens enormous doors to those looking to advertise their wares with millions of eyes pointed towards the center of the track, and the relationship between motorsports and sponsorship benefits both sides significantly.
In real life motorsport racing, the importance of sponsorships can't be overstated. Venues, teams, and drivers source and procure a wide variety of partners and sponsors season after season to ensure the team stays alive to race another day. Even if you’ve seen only a single race, of any kind, one can't miss the apparent signs and logos that adorn team cars, clothes, as well as the track itself. The realm of racing as it is today provides an unparalleled opportunity for brand awareness, and the scale of it can be seen by the sheer amount of signage seen on and around race tracks worldwide. Enterprises of great renown are aware of this fact, investing in various aspects of the motorsport world in order to further their influence on the designated market. So what does that mean? Brands, businesses, individuals, and now DAOs understand the power of brand recognition and the viewership these events bring to the table. These entities use events such as motorsport to promote that brand's product or service to viewers and attendees of said event. The business entity and professional sports team have an agreement that usually benefits parties involved, and strategic placement of entities logo is used throughout an event(s). But once these parties enter into an agreement, what benefit does the consumer really receive? Having attended hundreds of sporting events, I can proudly say I own a couple of printed handtowels and t-shirts — sweet, right? Eh. Depends on who you’re talking to. In this day and age, people are spending hundreds and thousands of dollars on experiences, such as live sporting events. How can businesses do more for the customers and supporters that pour significant capital into these events and experiences? We don’t have all the answers, but we have an idea.
When thinking of ways to provide value back to Bit Wheels Car Club members, we couldn't shy away from the idea of attaching traditional sponsorships to the automobiles within the collection. These carefully sourced sponsors and partners now have an opportunity to provide value back to the people that would have otherwise gained nothing more than a printed towel or t-shirt… if that. We wanted a new way for businesses and individuals to connect and interact with one another, but also benefit from each other’s affiliations made through the Bit Wheels platform.
At the time of this article's publishing, Bit Wheels has three brand ambassadors in place and plenty to go. We wanted to do our best to partner with brands and businesses that were endemic to the Web3 and automotive space, but specifically, entities that were aligned with our vision of providing tangible, real-world value to Club members.


A true staple in avant-garde transportation journalism, VÉHICULE MAGAZINE is produced annually and is the only journal that uniquely covers the opaque underworld of all things petrol-related. “Véhicle is produced independently and ad-free without external influence. Its contents are the products of intensive, direct scrutiny making for a concisely tailored catalog of avant-garde transportation. It is not intended for everyone.” We first came across the magazine publisher on Instagram. Their take on the South Florida powerboat scene in the 80s was quite alluring and exciting to read through. Once we realized they had physical copies of the journal available, we had to order a few for the office. We were excited when the package came in, the meticulously crafted magazine was well put together and made with superior quality and attention to detail. We immediately knew we needed to chat with the folks behind the brand. We met with publisher, Christopher Kippenberger and discussed the ideology and meaning behind the Véhicule concept. Christopher’s strategic approach to automotive media content was refreshing and authentic.

Although initially skeptical of the NFT and cryptocurrency markets, Christopher and the Véhicule team agreed to partner with Bit Wheels to create five unique Véhicule x Bit Wheels digital collectibles. Originally from Germany, Christopher pays homage to iconic German engineering through these digital illustrations, which are coupled with exclusive Véhicule benefits to OG Club members. Véhicule produces a wide variety of consumer goods outside the realm of traditional publishing, all of which are custom hand-made items. Notable pieces are the Italia Independent sunglasses collaboration, in which frames were accompanied by custom Véhicule eyewear retainers adorned with pearls and miniature garage Italia cars. When reflecting on who would be the right fit for the Bit Wheels concept, we found ourselves asking more questions than answers.
Why would a brand ambassador want to sponsor this unconventional concept in uncharted territory?
What makes Bit Wheels different from the rest of the NFT playing field?
What is our ultimate goal and how do we intend to achieve that goal with ambassadors?
What innovative models do we have in place to ‘Activate’ the sponsorship?
We needed to draw up our list of people that were operating in both traditional ‘Web2’ businesses and in Web3 that fit the mold and that would benefit from an association with us and vice versa. We did this by identifying our USP — Unique Selling Point.
Our USP is simple: The Bit Wheels concept was conceived by five friends that have been operating in the automotive industry for a better part of a decade. The team is comprised of successful and passionate business owners, MBAs, and design professionals that believe in the power of the internet and how this new digital frontier will reshape countless industries. Among many others, we are looking to disrupt the automotive industry. We accomplish this by utilizing industry contacts and altering the way those businesses and individuals interact with one another — through the power of blockchain technology and digital assets.
