A Deep Dive into Olive Finance’s Incentivized Testnet

Decentralized Finance (DeFi) has ushered in a new era of financial innovation, offering users unprecedented opportunities to earn yields and engage with blockchain technology. Among the DeFi pioneers is Olive Finance, a platform that is revolutionizing yield farming with leverage options of up to 10x for LP token enthusiasts. In this article, we will delve into Olive Finance’s incentivized testnet, designed to provide users with a glimpse of the future of DeFi and encourage valuable feedback. So, if you’re curious about exploring DeFi or a seasoned user looking for something new, read on to discover the Olive Finance testnet and how you can participate.

The Power of Leveraged Yield Farming

Olive Finance’s unique approach to yield farming allows users to amplify their returns on preferred LP (Liquidity Provider) tokens. This is made possible by sourcing the underlying capital for leveraged positions from dedicated over-collateralized lending vaults. These vaults serve as the backbone of Olive Finance, where lenders contribute their cryptocurrency assets, which are then accessible for LP vaults to borrow. Let’s explore how you can participate in this exciting ecosystem.

At the heart of Olive Finance lies the concept of vaults, each intricately linked with a specific strategy contract designed to auto-compound returns, and a dedicated lending pool for borrowing purposes. As a user, you have the flexibility to undertake various actions within these vaults.

Let’s Make a Deposit in the Vault

  1. Head Over to Vaults Page: Navigate to the vaults page on the Olive Finance platform.

  2. Deposit Assets: Here, you can add assets to the vault of your choice.

  3. Tokens: As you deposit assets, you’ll also earn Tokens, which represent your share in the lending pool.

  4. Select Leverage and Monitor Health Factor: While making a deposit, you can select your desired leverage. Keep an eye on the Health Factor to ensure the safety of your position.

  5. Transaction Completion: Click “Approve” to complete the transaction. For a seamless experience, click on ‘Max’ to set the spending limit. On the right side of the screen, you’ll find an overview of your position, including important metrics like Health Factor and APY.

Withdraw from Vault Anytime Withdraw:

You can withdraw from the vault anytime you like. Simply head to the withdraw section, enter the otokens amount you wish to withdraw, and click “Withdraw.” Don’t forget to pay the gas fees to complete the transaction.

Manage Positions & Maintain Vault Health

Healthy Health Factor: Maintaining a healthy Health Factor is essential to avoid liquidation. You can manage your leverage by heading to the Manage tab and adjusting it with a simple drag. After setting your desired leverage, click on the Leverage/Deleverage button and pay the necessary gas fees.

3. Olive v2 Lending Pool

Olive’s lending pools operate on a model reminiscent of Aave’s over-collateralized lending model. When you deposit assets, you receive aTokens (representing your supplied assets). Conversely, when a Vault borrows assets to facilitate user leverage, dTokens (indicative of the debt) are issued to the user.

Deposit

  1. Click LEND: To participate in the lending pools, click on “LEND.” You will be redirected to your favorite USDC pool.

  2. Enter Amount: Simply enter the amount of USDC you want to deposit, and you will be shown the corresponding amount of atokens that will go into the pool.

  3. Approval and Deposit: Click “Approve,” set your USDC limit, pay the gas fees, and finally click “Deposit.”

Withdraw

Withdraw: If you wish to withdraw your assets from the lending pool, head to the Withdraw tab, enter the balance you want to withdraw, and click “Withdraw.” Confirm the gas fees, and you’re all done.
