The BLNK Collective is an experimental community for creators and collectors who want to get familiar with NFTs and web3 technologies.

We seek to lower the barrier to entry to the NFT space by providing an easy way to collaborate on a project, and by providing support and education for creators who want to start their own collections.

The main project of the collective is to create a generational NFT collection that is fully owned by the community, and that gives creators the opportunity to leave their mark on an evolving art piece.

The Unknown Connections NFT collab will be the one of the ways that members can get involved in the BLNK Collective. The vision behind it is to create a living, evolving NFT project by incorporating the mechanics of the surrealist game exquisite corpse. Artists who are interested in participating will be assigned a tile on a grid, and create their artwork based on an adjacent piece without seeing the whole - thus making their mark on a collaborative, ever-expanding canvas.

The end result will be an evolving piece made up of each artist’s unique interpretations of this theme in their chosen style, created in remote and temporarily anonymous collaboration. Artists will be revealed to each other after they submit their piece. The 1/1 NFT canvas as well as the individual tiles are to be minted on the Ethereum Network.

This main collaborative piece will remain in the possession of the collective for the foreseeable future, governed and managed by the decisions of the community.

With the rapid rise of Crypto and NFTs in the public consciousness, it’s easy to feel discouraged and overwhelmed when trying to find out how to get started in this space. It’s even easier to fall for scams, forego basic security practices or feel pressured to invest and risk a significant amount of funds in the “next big thing”.

To combat that, we provide our members several avenues and initiatives to get engaged with the mechanics of the blockchain on their own terms.

These initiatives can be broadly categorized in the following key areas:

• hands-on experience

• continuous education

• promotion and exposure

We aim to provide positive experiences and development for all members, regardless of their skills or familiarity with web3 technologies.

The BLNK token is the governance token of our collective.

It will be distributed amongst artists and collaborators to ensure that everyone who participates in this project has a say in important governance decisions and access to future opportunities.

$BLNK will be used for votes on snapshot.org as well as for role distribution and access within our discord, enabling us to set up an organic curation and submission process for new artists.

For now, our focus is on the creation on the Unknown Connections NFT collab and the BLNK Collective DAO. We aim to do the groundwork and create the infrastructure needed for organic growth, focusing on quality and education wherever possible.

The creation and management of a wiki-like online handbook for beginners explaining the most important terminology, wallet management, processes and security settings. Creating an environment in which our members feel free to ask questions and get the support they need, and hopefully pay these gestures forward to new generations of entry-level members.

If we manage to acquire a surplus of funds from sales and royalties, the next logical step will be to invest some of these funds into membership NFTs that benefit the entire collective.

Some current examples include:

• Ethereal Collective - International exhibitions and events for NFT art

• PLINFT - Physical events and ad spaces for NFT art (ex.: Times Square, NY)

• TBDDAO - Exhibitions, Events and Merchandising based on NFT art

• The Minted Book - NFT based book featuring 100 artists on the blockchain

This collection will take some time to get off the ground by design. The nature of this process inherently turns the hype machine on its head and serves to give everyone involved ample time to get acquainted to every part of it, and make their own choices whether to participate or not.
