a 'crypto-novel' experiment
as musicians, record label owners and entrepreneurs, Andrew and I have long found ourselves exploring the web3 landscape from that perspective. We asked ourselves: how do we improve distribution and streaming for musicians? Will future record labels be fully decentralised? Should we begin issuing smart contracts for traditional label-artist deals?? we each waded into the waters tentatively, learning from the ground up. As a former political philosophy student and newsroom journalist, I’ve alw...

PODCAST APPEARANCE.This month we were given our first opportunity to speak about the Quest of Evolution on a public platform! InvArch, a layer 1 solution project for creator economy builders, recently invited our co-founder Bob to their Twitter Space Tinkertalks for a conversation focused around web3, the future of the creator economy, Intellectual Property rights and the alignment of our projects towards a common goal. InvArch’s co-founder Dakota was highly welcoming and encouraging. They fo...

This monthly newsletter will serve as a little roundup of all the latest Quest of Evolution updates: from new Architects and team members, to fundraise progress updates and anecdotes :=)
Let me start by saying that the response from collectors, investors, artists and the wonderful people at Moonbeam has been overwhelming - and we cannot wait to mint our $QEV tokens and release the first set of novels into the universe.
Since we began the Quest of Evolution we’ve been on the prowl for musicians, writers and visual artists to design and score each Crypto-Novel. Today, we’ll be highlighting two of the newest Architects to come on board:

ZEP.
Hailing from the Netherlands, Zep’s music is so bouncy it makes you want to head-butt a stranger in the chest. His use of creative video editing to deliver beat ideas to his swelling Instagram following is as beautifully branded as it is musically filthy. He was at the top of my list of artists to score our second novel release (The Rules of Santos: the story of six convicts on the run, a fittingly gritty plot) and I’m thrilled to have gotten him over the line and officially part of the Quest family!
When we first got in touch, Quest was still in it’s early conceptual stages and yet he immediately understood its potential and approached our conversations with such a humble and open-minded grace. He’s as a lovely a dude as he is a musical powerhouse and I’m itching to hear what he creates when given the opportunity to set a scene and handed the creative reigns to take it where it wants to go.

Max Mitenkov {Vimark}.
When I came across Max’s art, I knew that he would be a perfect fit with what we’re trying to achieve. His eery scene-setting pieces resemble book covers, and the subtlety of his characters ring true with our vision for upcoming novels. We want to give the public the flexibility to guide these stories themselves, without too many explicit cues.
A music analogy if I may: Max’s work reminds me of a producer that gives their vocalist space to express themselves on a track.
A big part of this collaborative experiment is world building - contributors will be subconsciously accumulating data about an imaginary world, and Max provides the perfect visual canvases to do so.

Earlier this week we visited the NFT Show Europe in Valencia, Spain, and I wanted to shout out two of the most inspiring acquaintances I made on that trip:
@PerelloLaurent A true visionary and a wonderfully insightful thinker who had everyone in the audience inspired by his philosophical viewpoints on the world of web3. I feel that people of Laurent’s elk are imperative to new spaces like ours, and his work will ring ever louder as we are inevitably faced with moral existential questions about the work we do, whether in the near future or in the next generation of blockchain builders.
@ruggero_lorenz Ruggero is the co-founder of @futr_art, who are fostering a budding roster of artists in the web3 space. Not only are they representing them with their best interests at heart (a principle we, especially as former record label owners, adhere to ourselves) but they are revolutionising the way art is represented in physical and digital spaces. We hope to form a collaborative relationship with Futr since our projects are intrinsically linked, both in aspiration and artistic sentiment, and we wish them the best for the future.
