Announcing FutarchyDAO!

We are exactly one week into our project, and now we've got a blog up and running. But what exactly is Futarchy?

Futarchy is a two tiered governance process that establishes mandates before quibbling over how. It allows users to maintain momentum even when bad implementations emerge by preventing the baby from being thrown out with the bathwater.

The future of governance and government!

What is FutarchyDAO? What is #futarchy? What are our inspirations?

First and foremost, the progenitor of the idea was Robin Hanson. He wrote about the topic in the Futarchy Manifesto. Of course, notably Vitalik Buterin expanded on the idea greatly in 2014, talking about the theoretical application of futarchy to the practicalities of Ethereum.

Ethereum, of course, is borne squarely from cypherpunk culture, and no discussion of that is complete without mention of the cypherpunk manifesto (by Eric Hughes), and the crypto-anarchist manifesto (by Timothy C. May).

Last year, a social impact dao phenomenon occurred, with ConstitutionDAO (now People DAO) , FreeRossDAO, Ukraine_DAO and Honk Honk HODL. This has been chronicled by both Mark Rizzn Hopkins in his NCRI report entitled "The Diseconomy of Memes" as well as the impactdaos book.

Finally, to bring it full circle, our advisor Rizzn wrote in his weekly newsletter summarizing all this history and theory into the conclusion that the vision of #futarchy has been fulfilled with the reality of impactdaos (we'll republish that here soon in full).

Over the next days, weeks and months we'll go deep on the why's and how's, but for now the beginning of those answers can be found in our light paper, by cypheranarchist.
