Introduction :

Nubit is a scalable and the first Bitcoin-native data availability layer, secured by Bitcoin, for the Bitcoin community. So recently Nubit launched Alpha Testnet to reward users in three phases:-

Phase 1: Community Assemble
Phase 2: Light Node Quest
Phase 3: Testnet Adventure

To use your node wallet to connect to the dashboard for completing Phase 1: Community Assemble we will complete node task first

We will help you to complete this whole testnet so lets start :-

Phase 2: Light Node Quest

1. VPS Requirement :

According to the official guide : https://docs.nubit.org/nubit-da/run-a-node We require the following hardware for running a light node

The hardware requirements are low, making it a very light node that costs minimal to run.

2. Connect Your VPS :

For Windows :-

Now we have to connect our IP , for this we use Putty.

Link :- https://the.earth.li/~sgtatham/putty/latest/w64/putty.exe

Now,

Paste server IP to “Host Name” and click “Open”
In the opened tab, write the command: root;
Press “Enter” and paste the password from the server, then “Enter”

Note :- Password will never we displayed , Just type and press “Enter “

For MacOS :-

On macOS, launch the Terminal.

Enter the server with the command (change IP_ADDRESS to the server IP):ssh root@IP_ADDRESS
Next, enter “yes”, press “Enter,” and paste the server password (the icon with the key will hide the entered password). Press “Enter”.

You can use a VPS that you already have also. Make sure you are not running any other node on that or these two might clash and both may fail to stay awake.

3. Setting up the Node :

Connect to your node through Putty or terminal and run the following commands :

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade -y

Install the Dependecies :

It may take upto 5 mins for installing Dependecies

sudo apt-get install curl screen git-all build-essential glibc-source pkg-config libssl-dev clang git-lfs -y

Create a new screen session named "nubit":

screen -S nubit

To start your light node, simply run the following command :

curl -sL1 https://nubit.sh | bash

Press Ctrl + A (hold Ctrl, press A, then release both keys)
Press D

You should see a message indicating you have detached from the session

Save your Mnemonic words (24 Words):

sudo cat $HOME/nubit-node/mnemonic.txt

You can check your node logs if you want (OPTIONAL)":

screen -r nubit

Congartulations you have completed light node task (Phase -2) Sucessfully :)

Phase 1: Community Assemble

After saving your mnemonic words lets complete Phase 1 tasks:

Import your 24 mnemonic words which you got from node task to Keplr Wallet
After import head to the alpha.nubit.org and connect with keplr wallet
Now on the homepage you can see your nubit adress
Copy that address and head to Nubit Faucet at top of the screen on right side
Paste your adress and claim faucet (maybe useful in further tasks)
Now complete Galxe task to get points of phase 1
After completing galxe task head to alpha.nubit.org and bind your galxe account
After succesfully binding it will show 3000 earned points and all task will marked as done
