Late Winter 2023, R and I went to a NFT event in Hollywood. As we walked in the door, a young man started pitching his gaming startup to R. Once we moved inside and had our drinks, another man complimented my fit.
When we were about to leave, I recognized Josh Lawler, the accomplished NFT attorney. I walked up to him and introduced myself. We talked a little about DAOs and he told us about what he was currently writing.
R will often accompany me to my networking events that are local for him. He’s much more socially graceful than I am. He intentionally brings conversations back to my career interests, because usually people I’ve never met assume I’m just his date.
