I spent 6 hours trying to figure out how to run an image compiler in Visual Studio Code.
The last time I coded was never. It was a VERY frustrating process.
Frustration is a very powerful emotion. It comes when humans are dead set on doing/achieving/going somewhere and something is stopping them.
When we feel this feeling for long enough it makes us do things we never planned to do. It creates a pattern interrupt.
Pattern interrupts are opportunities because it shakes us out of the status quo.
My frustration created a pattern interrupt that opened me up to considering new possibilities: I dove into code mechanics I never would have dreamed of, it made me reach out to friends for help, it ALMOST made me purchase a solution that relieved me from the frustration of figuring it out myself.
It also made me join a discord server….
The best DAO creators find frustration shared by a group of people, use the pattern interrupt to build trust and then offer them a journey to alleviate the frustration.
By the end of my short Visuals Studio Code journey I had learned a new skill, formed closer relationships and created 50 unique banners for this blog in under 30 seconds.
We don’t only go further together, we have an opportunity to make better too.
