Will this be a thing?

Will this be the next thing? Just today I was going through Medium and it hit me how big of an impact such platforms are having. While social media such as twitter is great for things such as knowing what someone is thinking about an event or a quick elevator pitch (threads), these longer form platforms allow an immense amount of knowledge to be acquired if you’re looking in the right place. While Medium is currently the go to for many writers, the tweet below brings forth a very valid point. Now that Elon’s taking over Twitter and Zuck might just centralise the metaverse, content moderation is a highly debated topic thats on everyones mind.

Balaji Is one such ‘gigabrain’ I’ve recently learned an immense amount from. While I don’t think he has a Medium account he’s published his own book called: ‘The Network State’ which Is currently on my reading list. His recent marathon of a podcast with Lex Fridman is nothing short of amazing. During the 8 hour interview he talks about several complex topics such as fixing the inefficiencies in government and the FDA, the war in Ukraine and his outlook for cryptocurrencies. Somehow, saying that I highly recommend watching the whole interview still feels like an understatement. If his outlook for cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology doesn’t get you exited, I don’t think anything will.

Another such ‘gigabrain’ is Avrahan Eisenberg. He is exceptionally talented in explaining complex subjects in a surprisingly easy way. Don’t believe me, take a look for yourself below.

So you might be thinking: “ok great Cadushi, this is your first post why are you telling me about these people, aren’t you supposed to tell me about yourself? ”

Well, yes and no. You see I’m nowhere near as knowledgeable as these ‘gigabrains’ when it comes to tech. I’ve been through two crypto cycles, and diverted my attention to coding about a year ago as the bear market was becoming evident. So, all in all, I’m not that interesting, yet! Hence, my main value proposition at this point in time is the valuable knowledge I come across during my research.

Here’s what you can expect from this account, at first, I will be posting mostly about ideas/people that excite me. If you liked the two ‘gigabrains’ I just mentioned above, stick around because I’ve got a couple more you’re going to like. Besides that I will try to post every so often about the current state of crypto/outlook, not just what I think but trying to elaborate on whatever alpha these ‘gigabrains’ may post.

Lastly you can expect me to post about my coding progress. I’ve been learning Python for a little over a year now and have built my own projects related to trading bots, telegram bots, web scrapers, backend web development, and data science. I’ll be writing more in detail about some of these projects once they are a little more refined and available on github. Besides that, the two main subjects I plan on learning are AI and developing in Solidity

So if any of these subjects peak your interest, or you’re just keen on having a laugh at my coding struggles stick around for more!
