Let’s give things a brief start!
Hey Reader 👋 I don’t know who you are or what I am doing here. Still, I feel as if that’s something today half of our population figuring out.
But, sadly that doesn’t make things even.
I don’t know what I may use this place for yet. But, this entry is a reminder to use it. Ummm 🤔 I am still thinking about what to write.
Nothing is jiggling around my brain, not even a song 🙄. I mean what a dumb blank shit.
If you are not directly seeing this as in skipping the intro and jumping right here, you know I don’t know shit about this place but let me try it for you.
“Mirror is a web3 publishing platform similar to Medium, but relying on blockchain-based encryption.”
⬆️ That’s what they said and it’s self-explanatory.
Okay, I just got an idea of what this entry can be about 💡 - How Mirror is like to use as a beginner. Isn’t that a good topic to start with?
If you really think about it - Who makes the explanatory “What is Mirror and what it is used for?” An expert right? Yeah but not always.
But, it’s always backed by research so the person writing becomes a kind of theoretical expert. And loses that beginner touch again as that author pretends so good at knowing stuff, you can’t even guess bro.
If you ask me which I know you won’t still I would say - I guess more than 70% of blogs and articles we read are not written by an expert and are researched base.
Which is not bad🚫. Still just saying it would be a good thing to have a piece of content written by a beginner’s mind in a beginner’s way.
So, it’s decided we are talking about it. Here’s a TOC of what I may cover in this :
What Mirror really is and
As we talked earlier that Mirror is a web3 publishing platform similar to Medium. And I said it is self-explanatory but seeing this again I see the number of jumble words here.
What if you don’t know what web3 is? What about Medium? You must know that huh? And even if you don’t. The publishing platform is understandable.
Still, I’ll link this for practical understanding okay?
So, you know how the Internet we use today is all about these big platforms like Google, Facebook, and Amazon. And these guys really control most of our data.
I mean it’s scary but cool for them.
So, what Web3 changes?
Well, Web3 is a new way of doing things that's all about decentralization and putting control back in the hands of users like you and me.
So, these creeps don’t know where you’re going for your honeymoon or what underwear you’ve decided to wear.
Basically, Web3 is built on blockchain tech, which is like a digital ledger that records transactions and interactions in a secure and transparent way, unlike the giants.
Here, you will have ownership and control over your data, digital assets, and online identities (like me here - calfi)
You can think of it as a shift from "platforms" to "protocols" - where the rules and processes of the Internet are more transparent and distributed across a network of users, rather than being controlled by a single entity.
There’s a lot more about it to immerse in like a chocolate bath. But, this much is enough for you to have an idea of what web3 really is.
Now, getting back at Mirror.
So, Mirror is a publishing platform that's all about empowering writers and creators to share their content in a unique and decentralized way.
Imagine a platform where you can create and publish your stories, essays, and articles, and have complete ownership and control over your content. That's what Mirror offers.
And how do they make it possible? It's built on blockchain technology same as the web3, which means your work is stored securely and transparently on a distributed network, rather than being controlled by a single company.
See, this is complete me. I am gonna write about how I felt. Purely.
So, in the start, I was all excited and all cause I like writing and this is a publishing platform, based on Web3 and all. It seemed like a future thing.
In the starting only you will notice it kinda looks like a mixture of social profiles similar to Medium and NFT marketplaces.
You can get started and you will be dumped at a dashboard for yourself. This is the actual place where you can write entries.
Now, this entry can be anything - any piece of content you like yourself to be linked with. And here only you can also create a collection.
Similar to NFT marketplaces just here you’re not minting a monkey’s dp.
This will allow other people who can jump out of nowhere to see if they like what you have and can mint your work and associate them with you if they like.
Ohh!
I didn’t feel I understand this much when I started writing. Good bro
These Mirror guys are cool and they are like updating stuff from time to time. There is this community thing and also a cool competition or something between the writers and the winner gets a WRITE$$ token.
I am sure about it but something of this sort happens.
You already know by now how I landed but writing this first draft I feel like this is a good place to just write and be. This feels like freedom.
I think I might use this more than I thought and keep exploring all the stuff I get bumped around me.
If you’re here still - Thanks bruh! or You highness 👑 You shall now subscribe😉
