In recent news, the Binance cryptocurrency exchange has announced the integration of the Lightning Network, following the temporary suspension of bitcoin withdrawals due to network congestion. On May 7, users were unable to withdraw their bitcoin from the platform for an hour and a half due to this congestion. While the function was eventually restored, on the night of May 8, the exchange once again had to suspend bitcoin withdrawals due to a high volume of pending transactions.

In order to restore the withdrawal function, Binance had to increase the commission for all pending withdrawal requests. Representatives of the exchange commented on the situation, acknowledging the inconvenience caused to users and stating their commitment to improving the user experience.

With the integration of the Lightning Network, it is hoped that the platform will be able to improve its transaction processing speed and reduce network congestion in the future.
