Mint
NFTs are typically associated with visual art, but Mirror is revolutionizing this perception. In this walkthrough, we'll explore Mirror - a web3 toolkit designed for sharing narratives, crowdfunding projects, and converting text-based content into NFTs. Let's get started on minting our own entry!
Preparation Checklist
Before diving in, ensure you're equipped with the essentials. To mint an entry on Mirror, you'll need:
An Ethereum-compatible wallet like MetaMask or Rainbow.
Sufficient ETH in your wallet for minting your article as an NFT. While publishing on Mirror is free, minting as an NFT incurs gas fees.

Understanding NFTs & Mirror
While images dominate the current NFT landscape, they represent just a slice of NFT potential. Fundamentally, NFTs (non-fungible tokens) are blockchain-based proofs of ownership. They signify ownership of an asset, be it digital or tangible, and tie it to a blockchain address, resulting in a transparent, verifiable record.
Can a written piece be an NFT? Definitely!
Mirror might seem like a mere web3 platform for article publishing, akin to a blockchain version of Medium or Substack. However, it's much more. Mirror empowers content creation and community building, offering tools for NFT minting, crowdfunding, revenue sharing, and even minting ERC20 tokens for community distribution.
Today's mission? Crafting our inaugural Mirror entries and minting them as NFTs. Let's embark!
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Navigate to mirror.xyz and link your wallet using the top-right button.
Step 2: If you're a Mirror newbie, access the Settings tab on the left sidebar to customize your profile picture, bio, color scheme, and display name.
Step 3: Satisfied with your profile? Return to the Entries tab and select Create Your First Entry.
Step 4: On the Write page, utilize Mirror’s comprehensive text editor. Craft your article using features like headings, bullet points, images, and quotes. Need a creative spark? Join the RabbitHole community Discord for brainstorming! Additionally, explore web3 tools for content monetization and NFT integration, such as Crowdfund, Edition, Auction, Split, and NFT Preview. For this tutorial, we'll skip these, but you can delve deeper here.
Step 5: Post-writing, click the top-right gear icon to access article settings. Upload a header image (3000x1500 px) and input a meta title and entry snippet. This header image will symbolize your entry NFT upon minting. Preview your meta at the article settings' base to see its Mirror, search engine, and social media display. Consider saving your piece as a draft by selecting Save Draft.
Step 6: With your article, header image, and meta details ready, review everything meticulously. Post-NFT minting, edits are impossible. Remember, this NFT, once minted, eternally links to your wallet. Even post-sale, you remain the recognized creator. Ensure your content reflects your best work.
Step 7: All set? Hit Publish and tick the Mint as NFT Edition checkbox. A concluding menu will emerge. If you've skipped the header image, add it now. This menu also features the crucial Funds recipient section. This address receives funds upon your NFT's sale. Copy-paste your wallet address here.
Step 8: Conduct a final check. When set, click Publish And Mint Entry. As this mints an NFT on the blockchain, a gas fee applies. Authorize this transaction in your wallet and cover the gas fee to finalize your entry's minting.
Celebrate!
Done! The transaction might need a few moments for confirmation. Once verified, you've successfully minted your Mirror entry as an NFT
