Why is line 3 "late"?

Old Hangzhou people may know that it is the “most changeable” subway line in Hangzhou during the planning period. From germination to opening, it took more than ten years.

Many people wonder why the line ranking so high is indeed one of the latest lines opened?

In fact, as early as 1993, Hangzhou planning and Design Institute proposed the “cross” line network layout subway scheme, in which the North-South “urban central axis” passes through Wulin, Daguan, Dingqiao and Linping, which is the earliest outline and prototype of line 3; But then the whole Hangzhou Metro plan was rejected, and line 3 naturally ended up.

After entering 2000, the planning and construction of Hangzhou Metro was put on the agenda again. This time, line 3 also appeared in the five lines planned in phase I of the metro.

However, due to the immature conditions at that time, only line 1 was approved in 2005, and line 3, as the backbone line, passed you again.

By 2013, Hangzhou Metro phase II plan was released. I thought line 3 was ripe, but there was no line 3 on the list.

For this “failure”, Hangzhou Development and Reform Commission, Hangzhou Metro Group, Municipal Planning Bureau, municipal traffic police and other relevant departments explained that line 3 is a major east-west rail line in the city, with a large section of Tianmu Mountain Road.

At that time, the West Extension Project of Desheng expressway was to be built on Wenyi Road, and Metro Line 2 was to be built on Wener road. There was east-west traffic in the whole west of the city, but Wensan road was left. If Tianmu Mountain Road was closed again, it would cause serious traffic congestion at that time.

Therefore, considering various aspects, line 3 is temporarily delayed.

In the third phase of the subway planning, line 3 was finally listed, but with the progress of the project, it was also full of difficulties. First, the line was fine tuned, and then the superhard rock was encountered under Shuguang Road, so it had to be chiseled by hand, and the progress was slow.

Fortunately, all the waiting had the best results, and the long-awaited line 3 was finally going to be opened. Although the first section can only reach Chaowang Road station, it will bring passenger flow pressure to the already crowded line 5. However, it still cannot resist the high expectations of residents along the line.

For the citizens of Dingqiao and Xingqiao, they have been looking forward to Metro Line 3 for a long time. After the opening of the first section of line 3, in addition to daily commuting, it can also greatly facilitate the pace of dinqiao and Xingqiao residents going out to eat, drink and have fun.

As Dingqiao and Xingqiao areas are located in the northeast corner of the central urban area of Hangzhou and are far away from the city center, Qianjiang New Town, Chengxi and other areas in the city, it often takes an hour or more for residents in this area to travel by themselves or by bus. In recent years, the development of Dingqiao has entered a bottleneck period.

Reviewing the development history of Dingqiao, Guangyu laid out Dingqiao with a total price of 498 million yuan and a floor price of 4241 yuan / square on July 25, 2007, becoming a pioneer in Dingqiao plate.

With the transfer of a large number of plots, developers have successively entered this plate, such as Kunlun, Zhonghao, kunhu, Guanyu, Tianyang, Lianhe, etc. This is the first phase of Dingqiao and a part of the large residential area of Dingqiao.

Linding Road, Huafeng road and danonggang road are the main and secondary roads in the city. At present, they form the east-west road network skeleton connecting Dingqiao with the outside world; Qinfeng road and Dingqiao East Road form the framework of the north-south road network connecting Dingqiao town with the outside world. In addition, there is a ring Ding road around the whole Dingqiao plate.

The two expressways preferred by kedingqiao residents are Qiushi viaduct, which always ranks in the top 10 of Hangzhou congestion index, and the congested ground roads with increasing traffic flow. This has also become the “labor pains” of the development of Dingqiao.

In the whole Linping District, although the three vertical and four horizontal expressway network has been preliminarily completed, the traffic has entered the era of expressway network extending in all directions. However, Chongxian and Xingqiao, as the key points of Linping district and the north of Hangzhou, are not convenient enough to travel between the two places and with Qiaosi block due to traffic conditions, which hinders the linkage and integration development between regions.

With the construction and opening of Tongxie Road, the travel congestion of Dingqiao has been slightly alleviated. The key to solving the problem lies in Metro Line 3.

Once Metro Line 3, which is not affected by road conditions, is opened, residents of Dingqiao and Xingqiao can go directly to the city center for about half an hour, which will greatly improve the travel efficiency of citizens in these two areas, shorten the time spent on the road to and from work, and shorten the “psychological distance” of Hangzhou citizens to Dingqiao and Xingqiao areas.
