Becoming Perspicacious

Sharing my thoughts online is an elusive thing.

Currently, my favorite way to communicate is offline and in person, where I can give my perspective with energy and passion, tuned to the room I'm in. I've always felt that something magical happens when people gather to collaborate on ideas, bringing out the most accurate representation of myself.

But here on this screen, my energy, passion, and personality are condensed down to bytes and ASCII characters, only to be rehydrated in your mind's imagination. So why break out of my comfort zone and figure out how to communicate using this medium effectively?

Rapid mental evolution

I hypothesize that by sharing my thoughts online and publicly (in whatever medium), I will rapidly improve the quality of my understanding of the universe and improve my ideas to navigate it effectively. This "rapid mental evolution" is crucial to adapting and staying competitive in a constantly changing environment.

A quick list expanding on this hypothesis:

  • By writing my thoughts down, I must distill them into a format that can be easily shared (dehydration) and then quickly activated and understood by other people (rehydration)

  • By creating a conversation and community around these ideas, we can learn about the universe together, with the goal of not only improving my ability to navigate the world but helping us all get better together

  • By sharing my thoughts online and publicly, I'm able to increase my reach and the number of perspectives that can weigh in on these ideas (which is a giant polishing machine), turning them from rough concepts to refined principles

What to expect from me

As a software engineer, I love writing code. I care about the products that I help create because I care about the people using them. Not only that, but I also care about the quality of my work because I want to be proud of what I do.

I can only imagine that the content here will evolve over time. To start, I will share my perspective on topics that will help me improve my ability to craft products, increase care for people in the world, and navigate the universe effectively as a human.

Whether you tune in to these thoughts or not, we're on this journey together, and I'm looking forward to learning more about your perspective of the universe, so we can all get better together.

See you later,

Chandler
