Chatpuppy is a decentralized instant messaging Dapp that enables secure end-to-end encrypted messaging and file sharing, with support for various file formats. It integrates with users' crypto wallets and allows for wallet-to-wallet transactions. Chatpuppy also supports the use of NFTs as avatars and themes, and allows for direct interaction with smart contracts via simple commands.

2- How does Chatpuppy differ from other messaging apps?

3- Is Chatpuppy free to use?

Chatpuppy is free to use for everyone, but users who hold Chatpuppy NFTs will have access to advanced features such as increased file storage space, the ability to send secret messages, and the ability to add more members to their groups. By owning Chatpuppy NFTs, users can enhance their overall experience and have more control over their messaging.

4- Does it support social account login?

Yes, Chatpuppy does support social account login, including popular platforms such as Google, Facebook, Github and Twitter, among others. Additionally, the platform plans to integrate with more social accounts in the future to provide users with more options for authentication.

5- Does Chatpuppy support encrypted transmission of files in any format?

Yes, Chatpuppy supports end-to-end encryption for image, video, and any other format of files. This means that all files shared on Chatpuppy are completely secure and private.

6- What types of encryption does Chatpuppy use?

Chatpuppy uses tweetNacl algorithm to derive a new private key and public key from the user's wallet account, instead of using the user's private and public keys directly. This approach separates the asset key and message key, reducing the risk of hacking the user's digital assets in their wallet. Additionally, this allows Chatpuppy to migrate to different blockchains with different encryption algorithms. More technical details can be found on our GitHub page.

7- How many members can be in a Chatpuppy group?

The free tier of Chatpuppy supports up to 20 members in a group. However, if the group creator holds Chatpuppy NFTs, they can unlock higher limitations, such as supporting up to 1000+ members in a group.

8- Can I use Chatpuppy without creating an account?

Yes, you can use Chatpuppy without creating a separate account by importing your existing Ethereum-based crypto wallet account. This means you can use Chatpuppy without having to create a new username or password.

9- How do I create a Chatpuppy account?

To create a Chatpuppy account, you need to download the Chatpuppy app from the App Store or Google Play Store and install it on your device. Once you open the app, it will prompt you to create a new wallet account or import an existing one. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your wallet account and start using Chatpuppy.

Alternatively, you can also create a new account in Metamask web browser wallet.

10- Does Chatpuppy require access to my personal information?

No, Chatpuppy doesn't require access to your personal information. Your wallet account is your identity in Chatpuppy, and it is decentralized and secured. Chatpuppy doesn't collect any personal data or information from its users.

11- Can I customize my Chatpuppy profile?

Chatpuppy allows users to set their nickname, which can be seen globally by all users. In group chats, members can also set nicknames for other group members or the group nickname for themselves. However, the group avatar cannot be set freely. If the group admin has set a Group NFT, members who hold that NFT can choose one of their NFTs as the group avatar. Otherwise, the avatar will be a default blockie image.

12- Can I use Chatpuppy to make voice or video calls?

Currently, Chatpuppy does not support voice or video calls. However, we are constantly improving and expanding our features, and may consider adding this functionality in the future.

13- Does Chatpuppy support file sharing?

Yes, Chatpuppy supports file sharing. Users can send and receive files of various formats, including documents, images, audio, and video files. There is a file size limit for the free tier, but if a user holds Chatpuppy NFTs, they can enjoy higher limitations for file storage space.

14- Can I use Chatpuppy to send cryptocurrency?

Yes, Chatpuppy allows users to send and receive cryptocurrency. Users can import their wallets into the app and then use it to send transactions to other users. The app supports various cryptocurrencies including Ethereum, ERC-20 tokens or NFTs. And later users can also send and receive cryptocurrency in group chats, making it easy to split bills or make payments among friends or colleagues.

15- How does Chatpuppy integrate with crypto wallets?

Chatpuppy integrates with crypto wallets by allowing users to import their existing Ethereum-based wallet accounts, such as Metamask, directly into the app. This allows users to seamlessly send and receive cryptocurrency within the app without having to switch between different wallets. Chatpuppy also provides wallet-to-wallet functionality, enabling users to easily send and receive cryptocurrency from other Chatpuppy users who also have connected their wallets to the app.

16- Can I use Chatpuppy on multiple devices?

Yes, you can use Chatpuppy on multiple devices. All you need to do is import your Chatpuppy account to each device using your seed phrase or private key. Once imported, you'll be able to access your Chatpuppy account and all your chats, groups, and files on each device. And any changes made on one device will automatically sync with the other devices.

17- Can I use Chatpuppy on desktop or web browsers?

Yes, you can use Chatpuppy on desktop or web browsers through the MetaMask wallet extension. Simply add the MetaMask extension to your browser, import your Chatpuppy wallet, and you can access Chatpuppy on your desktop or browser.

18- Can I delete my Chatpuppy account?

As a crypto wallet-based messaging app, Chatpuppy accounts are linked to a user's crypto wallet account, which is stored on the blockchain and cannot be deleted. However, users can choose to uninstall the Chatpuppy app and remove any associated data from their device to stop using the app.

19- How does Chatpuppy handle user data?

Chatpuppy takes user data privacy very seriously and follows strict data protection regulations. The app uses end-to-end encryption to ensure that only the intended recipients can access the messages and files sent between them. Additionally, Chatpuppy only stores user data that is necessary for the app's functionality and does not collect any unnecessary personal information.

Chatpuppy currently stores user data, including chat messages and files, on a cloud server with end-to-end encryption for security purposes. However, the platform does not save conversation data on a blockchain at this time.

20- Does Chatpuppy have customer support available?

Yes, Chatpuppy has customer support available in community. Users can reach out to the Chatpuppy team through the app's support feature, which can be found in the app's settings.

21- Is Chatpuppy available on mobile devices?

Yes, currently we have launched android mobile wallet app and will launch IOS app soon.

22- How can I trust Chatpuppy mobile wallet?

Chatpuppy mobile wallet(android and IOS) is based on AlphaWallet under MIT clause. We have added 2 important methods to support encrypting and decrypting messages, these 2 methods are exactly same as Metamask website extensions which is: getEncryptionPublicKey and decrypt. We don’t change other ready functions and just keep as AlphaWallet did.

As AlphaWallet is a famous and secured wallet, you can trust Chatpuppy mobile wallet.

23- How can I invite my friends to use Chatpuppy?

Users can invite their friends to use Chatpuppy by creating a group and sharing the group link. To do this, users can create a Chatpuppy group and invite their friends to join by sharing the group link. To share the group link, users can go to the group they created, then tap on the "Invite Members" button and share the link with their friends.

24- What is the maximum file size for attachments in Chatpuppy?

The maximum attachment file size in Chatpuppy is currently 4MB, but it may be increased in the future.

25- Can I use Chatpuppy to send messages anonymously?

As Chatpuppy uses blockchain technology for user accounts, the account is anonymous as it is linked to a wallet address instead of personal information. Therefore, if you use a wallet address to send messages, it will be anonymous. However, it is important to note that the messages themselves may not necessarily be anonymous, as they can be traced back to the wallet address.

26- Can I delete messages in Chatpuppy?

Yes, you can delete messages in Chatpuppy. To delete a message, simply long press on the message you want to delete, and select the "Delete" option. This will delete the message from your chat history on your device, as well as the cloud server. However, please note that once a message has been deleted, it cannot be recovered. Additionally, if the message has already been delivered to the recipient, it will also be invisible on their device.

27- Can I backup and restore my chat history in Chatpuppy?

No, Chatpuppy currently does not have a feature to backup and restore chat history.

28- How can I change my username or avatar in Chatpuppy?

To change your username in Chatpuppy, you can press the top left user logo to go to the "Profile" section and click on the "Edit" button next to your username. You can then type in your new username and click "Save" to update it.

As for changing your avatar, you can do so by obtaining the NFT associated with the group you are in. Once you have the NFT, you can use it to change your avatar within the group.

29- Can I use Chatpuppy for business purposes?

Chatpuppy is primarily designed for personal communication and is not specifically marketed for business purposes. However, it could be used for small business or personal business communications. It is important to note that Chatpuppy is still in its early stages of development and may not have all the features required for business use. Additionally, businesses may need to consider data privacy and security regulations when using Chatpuppy for sensitive information.

30- Can I use Chatpuppy to join public chat rooms?

Chatpuppy does support public chat rooms, and users can join them by accessing the public chat room link or by being invited by other members of the public chat room.

31- How does Chatpuppy handle spam or inappropriate content?

As an end-to-end encrypted chat app, Chatpuppy cannot access or monitor the contents of user conversations. To address spam or inappropriate content, Chatpuppy uses NFT-based group creation and moderation. Users can create groups with NFTs, which are unique digital assets that act as a proof of ownership and can only be owned by one user at a time. By limiting group creation to users who own specific NFTs, Chatpuppy can help ensure that only legitimate users are creating groups. Additionally, NFTs can be used to create moderation tools that allow group owners to manage their groups and remove users who engage in spam or inappropriate behavior.

32- How often does Chatpuppy receive updates and new features?

As a growing platform, Chatpuppy receives regular updates and new features to enhance the user experience and improve security. The frequency of updates depends on the complexity and significance of the changes being made. Some updates may be minor bug fixes or performance improvements, while others may introduce major new features or security measures.

The Chatpuppy team is dedicated to providing the best possible experience for users and is constantly working to improve and evolve the platform. They also welcome user feedback and suggestions for new features, which are taken into consideration for future updates.

33- What programming language is Chatpuppy built with?

We use typescript for front-end Dapp.

34- Does Chatpuppy offer any incentives or rewards for using the platform?

Users can earn Chatpuppy's token CPT, by using the app and participating in activities such as inviting friends, creating groups, and sending messages. Additionally, Chatpuppy periodically runs community events and campaigns that offer rewards and prizes to users who participate.

35- How does Chatpuppy ensure the security of my account?

Chatpuppy ensures the security of your account through several measures. Firstly, as a web3 chat app, it utilizes end-to-end encryption, which means that only you and the intended recipient can read the messages being sent. This helps to ensure that your conversations are kept private and secure.

In addition, Chatpuppy does not store your private keys, which are needed to access your account on the blockchain. This means that even if the Chatpuppy servers were to be hacked or compromised, your private keys would remain secure and your account would not be at risk.

Overall, Chatpuppy takes several security measures to ensure the safety and privacy of its users' accounts and messages.

36- Is there a limit to send secret messages I can send through Chatpuppy?

Chatpuppy does have limits on the number of secret messages that can be sent to prevent abuse of resources. The minimum limit is 500 messages per 24 hours, even if you don't have a Chatpuppy NFT. The maximum limit is 3000 messages per 24 hours if you have the highest level NFT. These limits apply to all users, and help ensure the smooth operation of the Chatpuppy.

37- Does Chatpuppy have any plans to support other blockchains?

Chatpuppy currently supports Ethereum-based blockchains such as Ethereum, Polygon, and BSC. These cover the majority of the blockchain ecosystem. As the roadmap, Chatpuppy plans to open its API by the end of 2023, which will allow wallet developers to use these APIs to make Chat Dapps on any blockchain.
