Lake

The morning sun rises from the lake, dyeing half the sky red. A breeze blows by, rippling the lake surface, where a few ducks paddle among the lily pads. I stroll along the lakeside path, wild grass and flowers twinkling with dewy light.

Turning the corner, I see the thin smoke rising from hometown chimneys, roof tiles speckled under the morning glow. Mother's song floats in the wind, reminding me of her patiently teaching me to plant our vegetable garden. Familiar neighbors along the old street smile and greet me.

At sunset, the entire lake is layered in golden hue. Children play by the lakeside, their laughter rippling through the shimmering waves. All along, this lake has harbored all my memories, this little village by its shore is my home.

Though small, this hometown has boundless motherly love. I will cherish this pure land, tending to the trees and grass with care.
