With all the buzz around Web3, it seemed a good time to take a look back at FOREVER before blockchain. Because it’s always been the end of the world, right? It’s always 5 o’clock somewhere.
Some things will last. Some things are lost. Mileage (and gas fees) may vary. So… years before I’d learned there was a chain to even be on, I was irked by the immutability of our digital detritus — more immortal than the soul. Or maybe I was kinda haunted leaving all my breadcrumbs back to nowhere?

“Eschatology” was originally published in Poetry Northwest.
It re-appeared on Poetry Daily and was printed in my own chapbook I Say Potato, You Say Apocalypse. This is the first time I’ve properly parked it online though. So it’s official; and of course that means it should be an NFT too!
Wanna drive it home? Mirror makes it easy.
The RISOGRAPH lettering was made by Anna O and Doug Von — who also did the layout, design, and typesetting for all the poems in my chapbook.
