Apple recently released their new MacOS system called Ventura, and here are some changes they made which can help you learn UX - grids & list.

Previously, the system settings were called system preferences, and it looked this way:

In the new MacOS Ventura, the system settings are changed to a list view. Font book, on the contrary, is changed to grids.

Here is the reason, humans have a bad cognitive load. You can think of it as the RAM on the old computer. Gridview presents a lot of information at one time, which will significantly increase the time our brain processes that information. Personally, I was always struggling on finding things on the old system preferences layout. A nice and clean list displays less information on the screen, but it reduces the usage of your cognitive load(or RAM). It makes the searching process easier.
But why did the font book change to gridview, is it countering my argument? Well I don’t think so, because the primary goal is changed here. Instead of searching for a specific font, picking a beautiful font is the primary goal here. A gridview can help users examine visual details of a font, and pick the desirable one.
Summary: list optimize searching process speed, while grids offer you more visual details.
