Ethereum actual news

EigenLayer has opened the restaking window for LST (LayerStack) deposits until February 9th at 12 PM PT. The window introduces support for additional tokens, including Fax's sfrxETH, Mantle's mETH, and the Liquid Collective's LsETH, with no deposit caps on LST. Each LST category has a 33% cap on restaking points, and Lido's stETH has already reached its points cap with almost 500,000 stETH in deposits. EigenLayer, ranking among the top 10 largest protocols on Ethereum in terms of Total Value Locked (TVL), boasts over $3 billion in LST and native restaking deposits. The protocol plans to lift TVL caps and permanently unpause restaking in the coming months.

TreasureDAO, a leading gaming platform on Arbitrum, has released a litepaper outlining Treasure Chain, a rollup chain designed for the Treasure gaming ecosystem. The document presents a vision and technical framework for a multi-chain future, featuring a network of Infinity Chains settling on the Treasure Layer 2 chain. Treasure aims to function as a decentralized gaming console, utilizing a rollup-agnostic cross-chain architecture. The native token, MAGIC, will facilitate fee payments and ensure economic security. The Treasure Chain testnet is expected to launch by the end of Q1, with a mainnet launch targeted for Q3 2024.

An Ethereum Researcher named Toni Wahrstätter, along with Vitalik Buterin, has published an article on Ethresear.ch exploring strategies for increasing the block gas limit. A higher block gas limit allows each block to carry more data, enhancing transaction throughput. The article also proposes raising the cost of nonzero calldata bytes as a way to incentivize the use of blobs for data availability.
