Environment destruction caused by humans is a global, ongoing problem. Major current environmental issues may include climate change, pollution, environmental degradation, and resource depletion. The conservation movement lobbies for protection of endangered species and protection of any ecologically valuable natural areas, genetically modified foods and global warming. International frameworks for environmental issues focus on three key issues as the "triple planetary crisis": climate change, pollution and biodiversity loss.
ConservationDAO seeks to create a decentralized funding mechanism designed for environmental efforts around the world. We believe that the current state of environmental protection and conservation is ripe for disruption. Our mission is to create a network that empowers millions of people to maintain a desirable human-nature interaction. Our strategy to achieve this is to connect establishments, environmental leaders, and other participants with a passion for the environment from around the globe. Conservation DAO is democratic and has no CEO.
In regards to funding from the treasury, all amounts must be decided through a voting process.
The treasury of ConservationDAO will launch with 9 multi-signature key-holders.
The Community can decide later to increase, reduce, or replace the key-holders.
By default, the DAO will conduct a leader election every year.
An emergency election can be held anytime if members vote for it.
No DAO member may inhabit both multi-signature and leader roles simultaneously.
Votes are necessary for any modification of the ConservationDAO white paper, proposals and community.
