Firstly, I don’t like commercial apps, the only secure and trusted one I would suggest is Threema. That is a paid app but also not decentralized, so I use Ricochet and have done since the alpha release. It’s now been updated by a non-profit and I would suggest any who wants to talk with me to use that.
Ricochet Refresh is an instant messenger where no one knows your identity, whom you're talking to, or what you're talking about. Ricochet Refresh is supported by Blueprint for Free Speech. We are a non-government, not-for-profit organization working to safeguard the freedom of expression for whistleblowers, activists, and everybody else, worldwide.
You can talk to whomever you want, without them knowing your identity (or IP address)
No one can know whom you're talking to, or when you're talking to them* (no metadata)
You talk directly to your contact - there's no middleman server that could be compromised, putting you at risk.
It's cross-platform, easy to install, and easy to use!
It's open-source and open to contribution!
To talk with me, click the + sign enter my ID (found below) the name you want to use, and the first message.
