I have noticed a newly launched Crypto social community called Pixie (PIX) in the KuCoin Launchpad. Pixie is a fully functional crypto-based photo and video sharing social network in Web3 with SocialFi concepts. It is a new Web3 social media platform that has developed its Application, which is very rare in the blockchain world. After reading through Pixie's KuCoin page and Pixie's WhitePaper and Social Media Channels, I am surprised to find that Pixie has been operating for almost a year. The platform has gained over 300,000 Registered Users, nearly 50% of Web3 users amounting to about 150,000, with over 40,000 DAU, making it a highly active crypto community circle. These are all impressive stats within the blockchain world. So I decided to download the Pixie app on App Store and register for it. After I purchased an Entry Camera, it marked the start of my Pixie try-out experience.

I received 50 Energy after I had equipped my Entry Camera. According to the rules, users who wish to earn PIX rewards will consume Energy. For example, Photo/Video/NFT posts will consume 5 Energy. Any Like or Repost will consume 1 Energy. Commenting and other social interactions will not consume any Energy, and this will not grant you any PIX rewards. The experience is similar to GameFi dapps I have tried, such as STEPN and Axie Infinity. In these dapps, users must also equip some in-game items or buy some roles. Users can equip their items or roles to start the game. The user who completes game tasks can receive rewards.

As my adventure progressed, the 50 Energy started constraining my ability to socialise with other Pixie users. So I began to search for ways to "upgrade" my Camera to increase my PIX rewards, and that's when I discovered the Genesis Cameras Series. These cameras were priced at different prices and offered different kinds of Ratings.

After reading through the materials, I have learned that purchasing these cameras will increase your Energy Cap and Energy Recovery Speed. The higher the camera level, the higher these two ratings. For example,if you equips a top-level camera, they will have an additional 70 Energy added to their Energy Cap, making their total Energy Cap 120 (50+70). Your Energy Recovery time will also be decreased to 14 hours from the original 24 hours.

Also, your Genesis Camera will increase your Weight in the Pixie community. Your Weight directly relates to how many PIX rewards you can receive, as your Weight will act as a reward multiplier. Hence, the higher your Weight higher your PIX rewards will be. We can take NFT Genesis Camera-Hill as an example. It will grant you 20 extra Energy Cap, meaning you will have a total of 70 Energy Cap. Besides the Energy Cap increase, this camera will also increase your Weight rating to 2, which can significantly boost your ability to earn PIX rewards. Your Energy will now take 22 hours to be fully restored, which is almost a 50% speed increase compared to the Entry Camera. Hence, I would suggest users obtain some PIX from KuCoin to purchase the Genesis Camera to enhance their ability to earn PIX rewards.

The app also has a Credit system that will affect a user's Weight and Energy Cap rating. All users will start with a Credit rating of 1. If your Credit rating increase to 1.1, your Energy Cap (We use 50 Energy as an example) will be multiplied by 1.1(50*1.1=55). The same will apply to your Weight rating. Suppose you have a Weight rating of 3, with a 1.1 Credit rating, your Weight rating will now be 3.3 (3*1.1=3.3). Finally, you can increase your Credit rating by receiving Trending status on your posts, exhibiting positive social behaviour and actively engaging with the community.

In conclusion, the social and rewards design is unique and innovative in its own right, and I look forward to seeing more additions to the Pixie app.
