Every cycle, the same Web3 tropes crawl back from the grave: “mass adoption is one killer app away,” “community will figure it out,” “we’re early.” They’re not just clichés — they’re crutches. Emotional shortcuts teams use to dodge the hard work of clarity, positioning, and trust.
If you actually want adoption, retire the mythology. Say what your thing does, not what you hope it becomes. Kill one trope in your deck this week. Rewrite one “hard” sentence until a fifth grader gets it. Ship one experience that respects people’s time.
I’m long on the primitives and short on the posturing. The future doesn’t need more hype. It needs better defaults.
