Note: All information from this space is speculation. The team might make a small or big change in the future.
All in-game items and NFTs are tradable in Grand Exchange.
ETH will be the currency. Castaways will not issue their own tokens.
10%. The game will charge 10% royalties for every trade.
Royalty will be shared with Raft owners and ‘Port’ island owners.
The rules are TBD, here’s some of the speculation.
a) If you hold a RAFT NFT and a ‘Port’ island, you will enjoy further advantages and more royalties.
b) If your RAFT’s name matches Port’s name, then you get the most significant share of royalty.

Port has better trade ability, like listing more items, and more pricing flexibility. If people trade at your port, you get a cut of it as passive earning. Hence Port island owners will need to incentive people to sell at their place.
Raft, the NFT, will be able to upgrade into a boat/ship and maybe a yacht.
Something like: Raft(NFT) → Boat → Ships → Yacht
You need RAFT NFT and maybe some airdropped materials, hence the amount of boats will always be less than Rafts.
Bring more goods, making your trade more efficient.
Character’s profession influences what kind of boat you can build. For this reason, each type of boat has its Specialty/Advantage/Disadvantage. For example, a farmer-built boat might get a better return when used to trade crops, and only certain professions will be able to make a yacht.

They give you in-game Items, like resources or stuff that are required when building boats or help boost your island levels. Also, Treasures can be recurrent, which means it’s not one-time rewards.

The rank and level depend on blocks and items on your islands, not on the number of island members.
Everything that has been built on the islands will be counted when leaderboards go online.
However, the team might consider the factor of the number of island members since some island owners are grinding alone.
A higher rank gets you better and more islands.
Island owners to decide how to distribute.
Digi Collectibles will boost the island level. Gabe Dolls is the Top 1 Booster.

Mining Time will be dynamic, teams are building a system to check real-time block distribution.
For example, it usually takes 20 s to mine a coal orc, but someday it might become 30s. Some days coal can be depleted quickly, then get replenished again the next day.
In short, the team will make sure that coal supply will always be less than demand (a sweet spot).
Some people might not want their coal mine to be open to all players. It’s fine, but they need to protect them with force.
Island owners will be able to train minions and animals to protect islands, this requires food, and hence the utility of crops. You use them as minions and animals’ food.
More minions = more food requirement = more demand for crops
For those who want to get coals, you need to use your weapons to kill minions. There might be cuisine/potion for players to craft, which might increase your speed/attack etc like in other games.
Except for using crops as minions’ food, Crops can also boost island levels/ranks.
Currently no serious plan for it. Might use it in some crafting recipes.
More Fish types will come.
The fishing system will be more complex, such as certain fish can only be found at a certain time and certain place.
You will be able to sail away between islands instead of using a command(/island [id]), and people can actually see each other’s islands.
