Square Enix president Yosuke Matsuda sent an open letter that has addressed broad topics from the “metaverse” to cloud gameplay and AI, however his letter also showed his personal enthusiasm for decentralized gaming.

Matsuda realized the current negative backlash on NFTs by the gaming community. He stated “I realize that some people who ‘play to have fun’ and who currently form the majority of players have voiced their reservations toward these new trends, and understandably so,” He claimed that NFTs will take over the gaming world.

Tech giant Samsung announced that they will integrate an NFT platform into their new Smart TVs. Samsung stated, “This application features an intuitive, integrated platform for discovering, purchasing and trading digital artwork through MICRO LED, Neo QLED and The Frame.”

The platform will show NFTs from several marketplaces, so users can preview the art and other relevant details, like who created the work, as well as relevant blockchain metadata. Preowned NFTs can also be used by owners to showcase their collections.

Collector Todd Kramer revealed that his sixteen Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs were hacked. Kramer on Twitter said that the incident was “arguably the worst night” of his life. He tweeted that he clicked on a link that appeared to be a genuine NFT de-app but it was a hacking tool.

The owner said that NFT marketplace OpenSea had “frozen” the assets for him including one Clonex, seven Mutant Ape Yacht Club, and eight BAYC NFTs currently valued at around 615 Ether.

South Korean presidential candidate Lee Jae-Myung, is preparing to raise funds in cryptocurrencies and issue NFTs for its supporters.

The NFTs will be the photos of Lee Jae-Myung and his election pledges to those who donate to the fundraising campaign for the presidential vote on March 9. The tokens will serve as a tool to reach younger voters, especially the generation of digital natives. Lee Jae-Myung’s party, Democratic Party is also exploring ways to accept cryptocurrency.

GameStop company is now inviting possible content creators to contribute to the platform. The landing page for the content creators includes several questions such as “why do you want to make NFTs for our platform?” and requires links to their portfolios. The form also asks if they have created any NFTs in the past and whether they have plans to create NFTs in collaboration with GameStop.

Currently, the launch date of the NFT marketplace is unknown, the latest update reveals that the company will “open up the NFT minting access on a rolling basis.”
