NFTs are the wild west - full of opportunity, but with a small minority of grifters who give the space a bad name and scare away potential contributors. It’s always been hardest for newcomers to protect themselves, but as the grifts become more advanced experienced NFT investors are getting caught by surprise as well. This needs to stop.
If NFTs are going to change the world, it needs to be dead simple for anyone to participate confidently & safely. But the old-school ways of stopping scams don't work on a permissionless Web3 - you can't report a scammy NFT to Ethereum customer support. So we need a new approach.
We believe that approach is for the community to protect itself, by sharing knowledge to help participants steer clear of scams & grifts, and supporting those who do get scammed. And Rugged DAO aims to do just that.

Here’s our starting point -
🔍 Track known rugs - One-stop place to see known and suspected NFT scams / grifts with a "rug score", as voted on by the community.
🤝 Support rug victims - If you've been rugged, come vent in our Discord and get ideas for salvaging your investment. In the future, get $RUGD tokens (& emotional closure) by burning the scammy NFT! $RUGD tokens will be used to vote on which projects are added to known scams list.
🧠 Capture knowledge - Capture our learnings as a community so future NFT newcomers can easily learn and avoid getting scammed.
