Some context. Continuation of the context.
The beginning of something new begins here.
I have been developing different projects for the past few months; a short film, a couple of music videos, and my own NFT collection.
The short film is titled You-Too, and it’s about a man who spends a lovely day with the love of his life. The next day he spends another with the love of his life, but she’s someone else. I shot it early last year and let it eat dust on my hard drive for over fifteen months because I was too busy working for The Organization. I would tell myself that I’ll get around to it when I have the time, but I never had the time. I was too focused on daily operations to be thinking about directing opportunities. But for the past few weeks, I’ve been editing, coloring, and polishing it. It’ll be out sometime this month. Some stills from the film:

The first music video is in collaboration with a dear friend and exceptional music producer, Gibran Wirjawan aka Gibs. Hailing from Indonesia, Gibs made his way to The Promised Land to share his melodies and scale his talents. The song is called For The Wicked, and it revolves around a man lost in a jungle, lost in the world. He finds his true being with the help of worldly elements: Fire, Earth, and Water. He interacts with them through dance, learning the rhythm of the world through choreographic movement. The premiere will be sometime this month.Pictures from the days we filmed:

The second music video is for an unreleased song called ‘Do I Have to Wait?’, produced by Momo Ward, a rising music producer based out of Westwood, California with over 9000 followers on TikTok and thousands of beats in his bag. It’s an upbeat tune that shows a relationship between a young couple and how it progresses and digresses throughout the entirety of its lifetime. Principal photography will be conducted sometime this month.
The research and due diligence for the NFTs began over a month ago. The idea came from my mother, a woman with no cinematic or industry experience: to create a collection of short videos that, when put together, is a “necklace of jewels”. Her words, not mine. I pondered over the suggestion for some time. ‘What’ came first: What can be created in abundance, but still maintains its freshness individually?
What is it about? What do I know well? What do I want to convey? Emotions. Where will it be created? Here, in The Dreamland. How will it be created? With the help of young, rising artists as passionate as me. Why? To recreate emotions felt in the frame, in reality, with the help of aural and visual manipulation.
When? This year.
Time to create.
