We’re excited to announce our partnership with Rootstock, which will provide education and incentives to help the world build on Bitcoin.

RootStock is Bitcoin’s first and longest-running Sidechain. By merging Bitcoin's security and decentralisation with the flexibility of smart contracts, developers can build decentralised apps while leveraging Bitcoin’s trusted network.
What makes RootStock even more exciting is its compatibility with the Ethereum ecosystem. Any builder familiar with Solidity and the EVM can easily transition to building on Bitcoin without learning new languages or tools.
This compatibility unlocks enormous potential for innovation and opportunity to build on Bitcoin!
To kick things off, we’re hosting Olia from Rootstock for an X space on Thursday at 4 pm UTC.
We’ll discuss RootSstock, its history and ecosystem, why it’s a great place for builders, and what we have planned for the community over the coming months.
Here’s a highlight of what you can expect:
Over the last month, DappaDan has put together a comprehensive course that will teach you everything you need to know to become a builder on Rootstock.
Starting with the basics, you’ll learn what Rootstock is and how it differs from Ethereum, how to read and write data to Rootstock, how to create smart contracts, and finally, how to build your first app on Bitcoin.
Alongside the course, we’ll launch Zealy quests to reward builders for learning in Zealy EXP, which we will eventually use as a factor for allocating future CODE rewards.
We will launch the course and quests on Thursday before our X space with Olia from Rootstock. Join us to learn more!
If that wasn’t enough, Rootstock supports our first-ever small grants round.
A fork of ENS Small Grants, Developer DAO Small Grants is a bottom-up, community-led grants program in which anyone can submit an idea to build on Rootstock. CODE token holders will vote on which projects are allocated a $1k USDC grant to implement their idea.
Any idea is eligible, and the community will choose which to support. Once selected, builders will have one month to ship their ideas before demoing them live on a live stream to the community on X.
We’re excited to empower the community to decide which projects and members to support in this bottom-up funding model.
