Value.
What is it?
And how is it reflected in our systems of money? The systems of money we have collectively chosen for our economies.
And how should we reflect our values in our systems of money?
What would be the perfect system? And would it… could it… ever really be… perfect?
Is this something on which we could ever possibly agree?
With our exponentially growing technology we really can afford to have limitless imaginations.
New money systems, new economies are being built, as we speak, every day. They have their own rules and parameters. Their own issuance and inflation models. Their own taxes.
How it started: Bitcoin and the 2008 Crash
How its going: The Metaverse and the Post Covid Bubble
We will one day have built so many new systems of money and value, so many new economies in the metaverse, we will have programmed and trained so much AI and smart contracts, that we might one day imagine that we could literally program paradise, test it out in warp speed, and download it into our own reality. Through experimentation, maybe one day we will find our Utopia.
Maybe one day once commerce and value transfer has moved into this new realm, we can begin to turn our attention to building a paradise in the real world, on planet earth.
(By the way I know I’m still early because “metaverse” still corrects to "met averse” on my mac.)
Abundance for everyone. Ok that’s bold. But we did say limitless imaginations, right? Where will this take us?
Within this blog I will at some point allude to a plan. Maybe, just maybe, if followed, we can overt this disaster, and build something good, something that will save us from our failing, self terminating, Game A Economics, and gradually transition us to a new, fairer, sustainable, wholesome and rewarding world.
If we are going to continue to invest in AI, general intelligence, blockchain, internet of things, biometrics, gene editing, cyborgs, neurolinks… if we are indeed approaching a singularity - transhuman superhumans, plugged into the mainframe - then we had better decide pretty quickly how we are going to govern such a god-like, all powerful system.
Quickly behind Decentralised Finance, DEFI, follows “Decentralised Governance, DeGOV”. I’m not sure who has yet coined this phrase.
What choice do we have?
Build a benevolent omniscient, omnipresent, all powerful God we can love?
Of course fucking not.
But if not an AI God, programmed by human consciousness, what else? The Government? Elon Musk?
Do we need someone in charge? Can we not “govern” ourselves? Can we not collectively control the hive mind of (wo)man to provide everything we need?
With new technology at our disposal, its completely possible to build a distributed decentralised governance system to reallocate capital, and point technology, point the sum of human resource, at making the world a better place, little by little, stone by stone, and governed by the people.
