We have created a limited supply of 10,000 citizens. — Each District 8 NFT is unique, with the collection consisting of randomly generated features such as hats, outfits, accessories and backgrounds Your D8 is your identity in the metaverse and doubles as your District citizen chip, and grants access to members-only benefits.

Mods help protect and grow our community, the most valuable part of District 8. In an effort to professionalize community management in the NFT space, District 8 mods will have daily calls within the Community and Product teams, work set hours, take regular breaks, and spend time off-screen.

In the futuristic dystopian world, society is divided into districts. When children reach the age of 18, they are to choose their best-suited district as their permanent group. Every year the nation holds a battle of wits & survival tactics. Each District must randomly select 6 people to compete in the Challenges. Whoever is the last man standing, their District will be the winner of the money that was raised by the Council throughout the year.

The story of District 8

** **

The founders of District 8 were survivors of each different district. They left their Districts after the challenges banded together and created their own district with the knowledge they garnered from their respective districts. Swearing to make a district whose citizens' lives don't revolve around the challenges. They built this District together based on the basic principle of freedom, but no matter how hard they try to ignore it and live freely. Is this freedom even real if they are still under the collective control every district is bound to?

Even so, District 8 is the district one would choose if they want to have a sense of freedom. A society built on its own capital, they are not one to prepare for the challenges, or fight to reap its benefits. For years they built their civilization from the ground up. Each year still being forced to send a group of citizens to the challenges, these citizens' fate is inevitable. Friends, families, teachers, or neighbors are unprepared and untrained yet year after year being sent to their death.

A small group within District 8 who call themselves The Revolution want to make a change. Their goal is to infiltrate the challenges, find out who is running them, and put an end to them. This group of revolutionists lives in the inner city of Renaize. Some people look at them as if they are poison to society, and others as if they're the only hope to true freedom. In order to infiltrate the challenges, The Revolution members steal the identities of the randomly selected citizens, to take their spot. Potentially sacrificing their lives in order to save the lives of others.

Revenue that is generated from the initial mint will be split between the project team and the DAO at a 60/40 ratio.

A DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) is an organization run by a group of people (AKA you, the D8 Community), with no typical hierarchy which makes decisions based on the smart contracts on the ERC-721A blockchain. The purpose of the DAO is to reward the holders and it is a testament to our commitment to maintaining the D8 brand through proper investments. The D8 DAO will be managed by the community and funded with % royalties from secondary sales. Investment decisions made through the DAO will be voted on by D8 owners.

1 D8 will count towards 1 vote in the DAO. The more D8 owned by the holder, the more voting power the holder has when investment decisions are made with the funds from the DAO. Investment decisions include, but are not limited to - Purchasing blue-chip NFT projects with the option of fractionalizing them to D8 owners, holding land in Decentraland, and more.

There are no bonding curves, District 8 is a 100% fair launch, every minter will get the opportunity to receive at least 1 free NFT,  thereafter it will be 0.1 ETH per NFT.

• Gas Optimization

The widely-used OpenZeplin implementation of IERC721Enumerable includes redundant storage of each token’s metadata. This denormalized approach optimizes for read functions at a significant cost to write functions, which isn’t ideal, given that users are much less likely to pay for read functions. Additionally, the fact that our tokens are serially numbered, starting from 0, lets us remove some redundant storage from the base implementation. We strongly suggest that all new launches examine this file closely if they are looking for a large win.

We have taken a deep look at a variety of ways to minimize the cost of minting our collection via optimization of our development practices. It’s you, the minter that is paying the crazy gas fees to obtain a collections token. If gas can be optimized with no impact to the minter/holder, then the project has the responsibility to ensure they pass that value to their token holders.
